Welp, laid off from HashiCorp today.
Wish I got more of a chance to celebrate what I’ve been able to accomplish over the past year to help advance Kubernetes Gateway API and extending it into service mesh with GAMMA.
Looking for a new role now, hopefully involving open source!
Claiming that a lobbyist from Uber & CEOs from other companies are workers in order to rig a union election is totally absurd & disgusting. I strongly support Compass Workers and call on Compass Coffee DC to respect the rights of their workers to organize & end its union busting.
Workers unionizing at Compass Coffee say management has hired over 120 people since they went public with their union drive including… wait for it… Cullen Gilchrist of Union Kitchen (!)
Gilchrist is very anti-union and busted his own company’s union: https://t.co/HOpfXfq8tG
@charlesallen@thewydown@politicshour would love to hear you discuss how the city can take action to prevent business owners retaliating like this against workers trying to unionize.
I stopped by @thewydown on H Street this morning to show my support for the workers & what has always been a great place to grab a coffee or meet up with neighbors. If the owners have closed both shops to avoid a vote by workers to organize, it’s the wrong move plain & simple.
First off, funny how there's no mention of those layoffs, huh? Because I'd love to know how you "build trust" and "deepen engagement" when you've cut your reporting staff to the bone, and done so in an unnecessarily cruel and manipulative way.
On Friday, we shared a letter with NYT leadership demanding protection for trans and gender-nonconforming workers in the NYT Tech Guild union. We invite you to read the full list of demands and sign our public petition at https://t.co/iHobUwCZ8z
We are calling on @songtradr to meet our demands so that we can continue to do our work and preserve Bandcamp’s mission:
* Employment offers for ALL workers
* Voluntary severance offers
* Immediate union recognition & continuation of bargaining

On October 7th we're hosting our very first conference focused on organizing the tech industry! Join hundreds of seasoned tech worker organizers at this event to learn from rank and filers building power on the ground. https://t.co/TsRujDFkgm
This article is about a group of workers with almost literally zero labor rights, and the land owners who just realized there’s one right they forgot to withold from them (bc they never thought they’d be able to unionize given their lack of rights) https://t.co/OjK0WexJgB
As Hollywood executives claim they can't afford to pay actors better wages, they're also spending lavishly on AI, with Netflix offering $900,000 for a single AI product manager.
87% of actors earn under $26k — the cutoff to qualify for health insurance

These Hollywood remakes are killing me man. Dude goes to New Mexico and meets another guy named Heisenberg who inspires him to do chemistry in the middle of the desert. Kills a bunch of ppl and bemoans his actions while secretly admiring himself. So original
A 16-year-old boy has died after sustaining on-the-job injuries at an industrial site, as lawmakers in several states advocate loosening child labor laws
His death follows two other teens’ deaths in Wisconsin and Missouri

UPS tech workers are being lined up by management as potential strikebreakers in the warehouses. Don’t fall for it! Un-unionized workers have the legal right to respect picket lines without fear of reprisal. Reach out to us or @organizeworkers for help!

This is so incredibly embarrassing. The Democratic “leadership” can’t pass the Pro Act, codify Roe, or defend the right to vote, but have all the energy in the world to defend an apartheid state.
