Re Asian diaspora: relying on how many people check the “Asian” box to measure diversity can easily imply “you’re at a disadvantage because your oppressor is well-represented in my field”. That’s violent, and we can do better.

i'm late but i just didn't/don't know what to say, as an asian-woman-kinda. anti-asian sentiment runs deep in this country. yet "asian" is a diverse category. we do not all experience race(ism) in america in the same way. diaspora is complicated. don't post a yellow square
