We Are Moving The Needle @wamtn have announced the SOPHIE Scholarship Fund, created to honour SOPHIE’s enduring legacy @msmsmsm_forever. The fund is designed to empower women, trans, and non-binary musicians pursuing careers in music production, audio engineering, and related fields.
Scholarships of $5,000 and $10,000 are primarily available for eligible students enrolled in audio-related degree programs in the US from Autumn/Fall 2025 through Spring 2026. Applicants based outside the US are also encouraged to reach out directly to We Are Moving The Needle for guidance on eligibility and support.
At Numbers, we had so much joy brought into our world by SOPHIE — as both a friend and a truly visionary musician. We remain inspired by her, and endlessly grateful. This initiative matters — now more than ever — at a time when the ruling class continues to fuel persecution and marginalisation for political gain. We stand in solidarity.
Applications close April 27, 2025.
