Cambodia’s trade with major international partners reached more than USD 36.84 billion during the first half of 2026, representing an increase of over 20 per cent compared with more than USD 30 billion recorded in the same period last year, according to a report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia released on Friday (Jul. 10).
According to customs data, from January to June 2026, Cambodia exported goods to international markets worth USD 17 billion, an increase of 19.5 per cent. Meanwhile, imports were valued at more than USD 19.76 billion, rising by 21.4 per cent.
China remained Cambodia’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding USD 11 billion, up 25.4 per cent. Within this figure, Cambodia’s exports to China increased by 25.7 per cent, while imports from China grew by 25.4 per cent.
The United States remained a key export market for Cambodia, with exports valued at more than USD 7 billion, up 29.8 per cent. Meanwhile, Viet Nam, Japan, and Thailand also recorded notable increases in trade volume with Cambodia.
The growth in trade volume reflects the resilience and potential of Cambodia’s economy to integrate into global supply chains and expand export markets.
Despite the trade deficit, rising exports demonstrate the competitiveness of Cambodian products in international markets, contributing significantly to national economic growth.
Thailand may expect France, China, & Vietnam to side with it in the Cambodia–Thailand border dispute, but it's not that simple. Its long history as a U.S. ally—and sudden shift—has already shaped global perceptions.

The Tai people are historically believed to have migrated from southern China, and later established their first kingdom in 1238 CE. Thai school textbooks distort history and influence future generations through propaganda and biased narratives.
