The military has always been a young persons game. We relay on Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who elsewhere would still be considered kids to do the impossible. And they do it daily.

80 years ago, nearly 73,000 U.S. troops landed on Normandy — some by parachute, some by glider, and some by boat.

For most of them, it was the first time they would step foot on the European continent. For many, it would also be the last.

This day, we remember them all.

There is a reason we consider them to be part of the Greatest Generation.
