@Trenelz_ And Bey didn't "bring her on tour". Nicki made a few "guest" appearances, but even then, that all routed back to Tidal. Let's not act like Nicki was struggling and Bey did her a favor. Tidal benefited from Nicki and the barbz because nobody was checking for Tidal like that.

@Trenelz_ She took a financial hit for not releasing it on VEVO too. That was by choice. Had all the barbz on Tidal. She incorporated Tidal into album release, tour bundles and her 2015 documentary.
Nobody else outside of Bey was doing all that. She went beyond the contract to promote.

@Trenelz_ Nicki absolutely had the highest digital and promotional footprint out of all the 16 artist. She promoted Tidal almost exclusively as if she really had part ownership. She chose to push for Young Money to approve release of “Feeling Yourself” video exclusively through Tidal.

@Trenelz_ He most likely knew, yet allowed and encouraged her to promote Tidal. I think Nicki trusted Jay-Z and thought they were on good enough terms that he would do right by her. But Jay is known to be shrewd and an an extreme capitalist before anything else.

@Trenelz_ Nicki's team failed her by not filing the paperwork. Legally, Jay-Z is covered. Ethically and morally? Shady. Imbalance of power? Likely. She promoted heavily and as a businessman, he likely knew about the contract issue. That's exploitative. Her council was likely shady too.

@Niell_Standard Nicki is one of the few that didn’t sell her soul. She didn’t sleep her way to the top. She’s serious about her craft. It’s clear Nicki said f*ck the industry a long time ago but she’s blessed and highly favored, that’s why she’s still outselling the competition 18 years later.
