Alasan terkuat kenapa Lewis Hamilton kena penalti adalah karena manuver dari George Russell itu sudah SAH secara regulasi.

Dia late brake. Agresif. Tapi saat sentuh apex, dia bisa posisikan ban depannya sudah ada di depan ban depan Hamilton. Manuvernya sudah sah.

Di posisi seperti ini secara regulasi, Hamilton wajib memberikan ruang. Tapi yang terjadi Hamilton understeer karena low-grip serta dirty air dari Verstappen di depan, alhasil terjadi senggolan.

Toleransi dari race stewards penaltinya dikurangi dari 10 detik jadi 5 detik. Walaupun kalau dilihat dari faktor-faktor kacaunya lap pembuka, sebelumnya insiden semacam ini jatuhnya 'Racing Incident' biasa.

Jadi kalau ada yang bilang "Russell harusnya buang mobil ke kiri," ya karena posisi manuvernya sudah sah, itu bukan kewajiban dia untuk kasih ruang. Kecuali kalau masih 'alongside'/sejajar, baru benar tindakan paling oke adalah buang ke kiri.
