Nigeria's tech sector is transforming the economy. Home to five of Africa's tech unicorns, Nigeria leads the continent's digital rise, supported by U.S. companies and venture capital.
From Fintech to AI, the United States remains committed to investing in Nigeria's digital future. Through 30 tech-enabled American Spaces and more than 14,000 #ExchangeAlumni nationwide, we're equipping the next generation of coders, founders, and entrepreneurs with the skills and networks they need to compete globally.
Reflecting this commitment, Political-Economic Officer Douglas Grindle recently attended the Social Impact Tech Summit, hosted by the @USGEAA_Nigeria (Lagos Chapter) to celebrate the tech-driven innovation that U.S. exchange alumni continue to inspire.
Consular officers don't just work behind a desk. They show up – at airports, in evacuation zones, in the middle of crises – to help Americans get to safety. When disaster strikes or emergencies unfold, our global network of consular professionals is ready to move. For 250 years, that's been a core part of our mission. It still is. #Freedom250
The new Kano station as never seen before.

U.S. citizens are REQUIRED to enter and depart the United States on a U.S. passport. This requirement applies equally to U.S. citizens, including children, who are dual nationals. Dual national U.S. citizens may NOT use their foreign passport to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ESTA). The Department of Homeland Security routinely denies or cancels ESTAs for dual national U.S. citizens. If you are a U.S. citizen or national and live abroad and plan to travel to the United States, make sure you do so with a valid U.S. passport. If your U.S. passport is expired or expires soon, renew before your trip! Remember many countries require passports have six months validity.
