Day14 Arrived John O'Groats 6pm ! Success after 981 miles. Clear dry day but with vicious headwinds making progress difficult & very cold .

Day13 Inverness-The Crask Started cold & cloudy then got very wet & windy. E erything soaked but only 63 miles. Last 83 tomorrow !

Day12 Ballater-Inverness,73 m,5562 feet climbing thru Cairngorm & Highlands with v.high headwinds. Cold & cloudy now but only 2 days to go.

Day11 22mile hill to reach Glenross pass at 2,300 feet. Batttled very high head winds making even descent very slow.

Day11, Glenshee Ski Centre in the Cairngorms.2,300 ft climb in 22 miles with a 20-30 mph headwind. Not helpful .

Day10 Moffat-Kinross 672m done,309 to go.80 miles but felt like 90.Big hill,head wind,bad rd. Great 2 cycle over 4th bridge & thru Edinburgh

Day9 Penrith to Moffat,70miles/590 total. I am glum as after 9 days riding I am still closer to London than the end.

Day8 heading thru Cumbria to Penrith 60 miles.Meander along the R.Lune then climb up in full sun to avoid B/H crowds. 522 ml done/459 to go.

1st day of riding L End-J O'Groats.Covered 68ml in perfect weather. Sadly we are down to 19 after a fall & fracture.Huge bad luck Jackie.

Day6 Clun to Runcorn,79 miles.2 big hills to start then rolling along country lanes mostly in sun,bit windy.Half done as 498 down,483 to go!

Day 5 billed as easiest day;only 58 miles from Monmouth to Clun.I lost low gears,a vital water bottle, my mates & the route so did 64 miles.

Day 4,261down720 to go.Coldest so far but dry. Wells cathedral,Clifton Susp & 7 Rd Bridges to Tintern Abbey in Wye Valley 2 end in Monmouth.

Day 3 197 miles done/784 to go. Reached Street near Glastonbury.Hills and headwind but bright & sunny all day. Posting this at 4am as awake.

2nd tuff day of lots of big hills but still sunny. Eating & peddling for 6hrs/day.So lucky not to rain as Dartmooor is bleak high & windy.
