Amazing #News: Doug Ford's Bill 124 which suppresses the wages of female-dominated professions at less than 1% yearly increase has been ruled unconstitutional by an Ontario court for the second time.
Despite knowing that Bill 124 is responsible for the mass exodus of nurses, Doug Ford went ahead to appeal the court’s decision using our taxes.
Doug lost again today. A big win for nurses and all those affected by Bill 124 🎉
???? Can’t tell if intentional misinformation or if these ‘Addiction Medicine experts’ actually believe this.
‘The three factors most closely linked to harmful substance use are availability, cost, and perception of risk’
After meeting with Minister of Mental Health and Addiction @YaaraSaks, leading addiction physicians from across the country are once again demanding an immediate end to harmful Liberal/NDP "safe supply" programs.
NEW: Today the BC Supreme Court granted a temporary injunction to @HRNA_AIIRM, suspending BC’s Restricting Public Consumption of Illegal Substances Act on the grounds that it would cause irreparable harm to people at risk of injury and death amid a public health crisis.
We are in Court tomorrow on behalf of @HRNA_AIIRM seeking to stop #Bill34 from coming into effect. Rather than use its powers to ensure supervised consumption services across BC, the Province is punishing PWUD. Read HRNA's statement here:

More research showing shorter or longer-term non-medication treatment (such as detox, residential programs, and recovery communities) provide *no protection* against fatal opioid poisoning amongst people with opioid use disorder. #ableg
CPR amazes me.
I’m fortunate that the only time I’ve ever really done CPR in community was as a baby nurse in a shelter, at 10 pm, for a resident. I had only seen agonal resps in a simulation lab prior to this and was initially confused (and very panicked)
It's #WorldSuicidePreventionDay!
As a suicidologist and someone who has experienced chronic suicidality since age 9, I want to offer some insights that mainstream prevention orgs don't often share. 🧵
This is the highest median concentration of fentanyl found in any week in Victoria. While @elenoresturko continues to challenge the provision of critical harm reductionand #drugchecking services, the supply remains extremely volatile and deadly.

@AllycenterofCb provides health, wellness, and harm reduction services for the CB community. Really happy to see that both safe supply & managed alcohol are also on their radar.
