@sewistwrites@RyanRicheyTX@natalia_barbour Totally agree. I nursed a patient of 9 or 10 years old who had a slight knock from a car whilst riding their bike (they were wearing a helmet!). They went from being a normal child to brain damaged and bedridden in an instant. Please wear a helmet!! I’ll never forget that child.
@pippipandaway Yes! It’s bloody hard. A friend of mine finally did it after having many attempts over many years. Knew it was coming but didn’t make it any easier. I still wonder why she did, as she had a lovely husband and children, but she didn’t feel she could stay. Really sad.
@Kay22185351 @keith_campion I was quiet and introverted as a child and still am - was told at school ‘You need to speak more’ (with the irony of the chatty kids being told to speak less!). I have a people facing job which I love, and I can now switch my chatty side on, but I still need my quiet time!
@CaraLisette Yes! I have been told off for being in the alcohol aisle by shop workers (in my 20s) and was once shopping with an elderly relative - cashier said ‘Is that alcohol for you and not her’ implying I was too young to drink. I was in my 30s!! It’s tiring.
@CaraLisette @Lmuesl Yes I’m early 40s - baby faced and petite, so I still get asked! I will explode if someone says ‘It’s a compliment’ one more time. I’m tired of it. I worked with a 17 yr old and because he was 6ft and built like a brick house no one batted an eyelid when he bought alcohol!
@Plyons251 Yes! It reminds me of how my A&E doctor looked when I had a trip for cholecystitis...poor thing looked utterly exhausted, dejected and desperate for a bed herself! And this was pre Covid...
@Justacarehomeg1 Have a safeguarding example - all interviews I’ve ever had have included this. Give an example of how you overcame a challenge. What are you most proud of? Always have some questions prepared for the interviewer at the end!
@heawood We were banned from watching Eastenders in our house when I was a child. When the opening music came on, my dad used to yell ‘Switch it off!!’😂😂😂😂😂
@swansonian It’s very strange! Why would you leave your phone behind (surely vital for calling for help if needed) and go out in the hottest part of an exceptionally hot day. I wonder if he had unknown underlying heart problems and the heat was the final straw.
