Startup marketing can mean SO many things. From being at early stage startups for many years, here’s what I’ve learnt about being a marketing leader (or very often the only marketing person) at an early stage startup. 👇🏽1/13

It’s been a great week of climate events at #sfclimateweek - the energy & interest are so encouraging to see 🌏!
The #AIforEarth event definitely snagged the best venue/views 😎🌇. Thx for organizing @susanfsu and @leepnet! & thanks for the great talks @dsaezgil Rebecca & Matt
🎖️In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize & in 2016 she was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world for her work to protect the Amazon. Melo continues to be an outspoken advocate for environmental & social justice issues
👩🏾Today I read about Antonia Melo, known as an Amazon warrior, who is a Brazilian human rights activist and environmentalist. She is widely recognized for her work to protect the Amazon and its indigenous peoples.

In 1989, she co-founded the Xingu Vivo Movement, an organization that opposed the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam in the Amazon. Even though the Belo Monte dam was built, Antonia continues to be involved in many similar movements
🎖️She was awarded the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Award for Climate Change in 2011, and was also a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, given to the IPCC for its work on climate change. #womenshistorymonth#climateaction#climatewomen
🧕🏼For today's feature, I read up on Dr. Balgis Osman-Elasha, a senior scientist from Sudan, who is also an author of the IPCC reports. She is a climate change expert who has been at the forefront of efforts to combat the effects of climate change in Africa. #womeninclimate
Her work has focused on the intersection between climate change, poverty, & sustainable development, and she has been a vocal advocate for the need to address these issues in an integrated manner, especially for marginalized women who are disproportionately affected.
Nemonte & the rest of the Waorani people helped protect 500k acres of rainforests. She's now set an example for other tribes to follow their lead. 💪🏽🎖️She received the 2020 Goldman Environmental Prize & was in the Time 100 list. More power to her! #climateaction#womeninclimate
👩🏾 Nemonte Nenquimo is an Indigenous environmental activist and a member of the Waorani nation from the Amazonian Region of Ecuador. In 2015, she co-founded Ceibo Alliance, a non-profit organization led by Indigenous peoples to protect their lands from extraction. #womeninclimate
⚖️Nemonte is known for having led & won an indigenous campaign against the government. She sent a petition to both the oil industry & the government, signed by 378K people from all over the world. She brought the case to court in a lawsuit against the Ecuadorian government & won.
To her, the trees were like her babies. 💚💪🏽Here's to more power to women like Thimmakka and may there be many more like her making waves in the fight against climate change. #womeninclimate#climatechange#climateaction
👩🏾Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all the amazing women out there! While we still have a long way to go to achieve complete equality, I'm an optimist, and I'm celebrating by continuing to learn about the incredible contributions of women in the fight against climate change.
🎖️Despite receiving many awards, including India's highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, Thimmakka lived a simple life. She is grateful for the trees and how they helped her heal, saying that the trees that grew made her happy while her heart hurt for the ones that didn't.
