💡Electricity Tariff Increase Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

⭕️The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved a 15% increase in electricity tariffs as the second revision of the year.

⭕️The new electricity tariffs will be effective from June 12th, 2025. - According to the PUCSL.

⭕ On January 2025, PUCSL implemented a 20% reduction in electricity tariffs under the first revision of the year.

⭕ Therefore even after the 15% hike, the net tariff level will remain about 8% below the rates in force at the start of 2024.

According to the Government policy to revise electricity tariffs quarterly every year, CEB submitted its proposal on Friday to the PUCSL for the tariff revision from July 2024.

Accordingly the proposal for further reductions on energy charges for the Domestic sector, Religious sector, General Purpose & Government Buildings sectors are as follows.

PUCSL will determine the final tariffs after evaluation of the proposal and the public consultation.
