DISNEY SAYS THE LAYOFFS ARE EXTREMELY PAINFUL. SO WAS THE TICKET.
When I was a kid, my parents trusted one company without reading the fine print.
If it said Disney on the box, it went in the VCR. No research, no screening, no checking a parents guide. The Little Mermaid. Beauty and the Beast. Aladdin. The Lion King. My mother put them on and went to make dinner because she knew exactly what was coming out of that television.
That trust was the most valuable asset the company ever owned. It was not the castle. It was not the mouse. It was a mother in a kitchen who did not have to check.
Then they spent it.
They decided the movies were a place to deliver messages instead of stories, and parents noticed. Even Bob Iger admitted in 2023 that the studio had lost sight of entertaining first. You do not usually get the CEO confessing.
Then they priced the family out of the parks.
This year, a single day at Magic Kingdom crossed 200 dollars for the first time in its 55 year history. Peak days hit 209. That is up roughly 38 percent since 2020.
And waiting in line, the one thing that used to be free, became a product. FastPass cost nothing. It became Genie Plus at 15 dollars in 2021. Now the Multi Pass runs up to 45 a person at Magic Kingdom and the Premier Pass runs as high as 449.
Four hundred and forty nine dollars. Per person. To skip lines at a park you already paid to enter.
A family of four can spend more than 800 dollars on admission alone for one day, before a churro.
Then they let ESPN and ABC drift. ESPN went from roughly 100 million homes in 2011 to about 55 million, and the answer was to raise the streaming price to 31.99.
And now the president of the company says the layoffs are extremely painful. Three hundred more this week, mostly in HR and IT, after a thousand in April. She says technology set its sights on their business.
No. Technology did not empty those park lines and those living rooms. The pricing did. The lectures did. The slow decision to treat the family as a wallet instead of a guest did.
Every brand that tries this learns the same lesson.
Bud Light offended the people who bought it and lost its spot as the best selling beer in America.
Pepsi raised prices until people stopped buying the volume, and an activist investor showed up.
Nike walked away from the stores its customers shopped in, chased margin, and watched the stock fall by more than half.
McDonald's took out the playgrounds, raised the prices, and is now spending 8.5 billion dollars to figure out where the families went.
Annoy your customers, price them out, and sell them something that offends the people who can still afford you. It ends the same way every single time.
So here is the call.
Your wallet is a vote and you cast it every week. Spend it with companies that remember who they work for. Be the mom in the kitchen again, just with more questions this time.
They built that trust over sixty years.
They can earn it back the same way they lost it. One family at a time.

Costco doesn't have prices. It has a code. And almost nobody shopping there today can read it.
You walk past a stack of the same protein bars every week at $16.99. Then one week it's $12.97 and you have no idea if that's a real deal or just a coincidence. You buy it anyway, hoping. Meanwhile the guy next to you is grabbing five packs like he knows something you don't.
He does.
A longtime warehouse employee explained exactly how Costco's tag system works — the tiny numbers and symbols printed on every single price sign that tell you, in advance, whether something is full price, about to go on clearance, or about to disappear from the store forever.
Their take: "Costco never announces a sale. It just changes two digits on a tag. If you don't know what they mean, you're paying full price standing right next to someone paying half."
Here's how to actually read a Costco tag 🧵
Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking?
The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).
America just won hockey gold for the first time in 46 years.
Miracle on Ice. We beat the USSR.
Back when we were still proud to be Americans.
For the first time in 25 years, starting to see that again.
Canada was favored. Didn't matter. You just have to refuse to lose.
Jack Hughes took a stick to the face in the third period. Looked down at his teeth on the ice. Mouth full of blood. Didn't go to the locker room. Didn't flinch.
101 seconds into overtime, he buried the golden goal. Toothless, bleeding, and smiling.
His brother Quinn won the quarterfinal in OT. Their mother Ellen coached the women's team to gold. A Jewish-American hockey family. Three gold medal moments in one Olympics.
This team lost Johnny Gaudreau to a drunk driver in 2024. So when they won, they grabbed the American flag. They held up Johnny's jersey. They brought his kids onto the ice for the team photo.
No politics. No statements. Just Americans wearing the flag with pride and playing for something bigger than themselves.
A 24-year-old kid with blood running down his chin wrapped himself in the stars and stripes and said "I'm so proud to be American."
When's the last time you heard someone say that and mean it?
And it's not just on the ice.
Military enlistment hit a 15-year high. Every branch exceeded its goals for the first time in years. Today, same day we won gold, El Mencho, head of Mexico's most powerful fentanyl cartel, was killed. Overdose deaths down 19%. We pulled Maduro out of Venezuela. Iran is at the table.
Your kids are going to ask you about this time. About when the pride came back. About when Americans stopped apologizing for being American.
Tell them it started with a toothless kid in Milan who bled for the flag and smiled.
Tim Walz would've told him to take a knee. Then let a billion dollars in fraud walk out the back door.

This is absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful. Charlie Kirk’s view on women… my God. He was such an incredible man-so rare, so strong, so good. Boy, do I miss him. 😔💔🙏🕊️🇺🇸❤️
They aren't just buying houses. They are dismantling the American Dream, piece by piece, with a playbook so sinister it would make a Bond villain blush.
A few weeks ago, BlackRock allegedly bought 50,000 homes. Then, they sold three to themselves for more than double the price.
Your neighbor's home value just "doubled" overnight. Congratulations. Now you can't afford the property taxes to live there anymore.
This isn't an accident. It's a calculated corporate heist. Here is their step-by-step playbook:
STEP 1: THE HUNT
They use algorithms and vast data to identify stable, middle-class neighborhoods with untapped "growth potential." These are your tree-lined streets, your good schools, your community.
STEP 2: THE BLITZKRIEG
They show up with unlimited corporate cash. They don't need mortgages. They offer 20%, 30%, even 50% above asking price. Imagine you list your home. A young family makes an offer. Then a corporate entity swoops in and says, "We'll pay $100k more, in cash." The family never stood a chance. The community is gutted before the "For Sale" signs even come down.
STEP 3: THE SQUEEZE
Regular families are now permanently priced out. How do you compete with a bottomless wallet? You don't. The dream of homeownership is extinguished on your own street.
STEP 4: THE ILLUSION
Once they control a critical mass of homes, the real magic happens. They sell a handful of properties to shell companies they already own. It's a game of three-card monte, but with the roof over your head.
STEP 5: THE NEW "REALITY"
Those fake, inflated sales to themselves are now logged in public records. Suddenly, a $300,000 home is "worth" $700,000. This becomes the new, fraudulent "market rate."
STEP 6: THE FINAL NAIL - THE TAX TRAP
This is where they force you out. Your property taxes are reassessed and TRIPLE based on their fake sales. The elderly couple on a fixed income, who paid off their home 20 years ago, can't afford $15,000 a year in taxes. The young family that scraped together a down payment is now house-poor.
THE ULTIMATE INSULT: YOU WILL OWN NOTHING, AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY TO RENT FROM THEM.
They created the problem. They priced you out. And now, they become your landlord. The mortgage payment would have been $1,800. Your new rent to them is $2,500. You are now a permanent tenant in your own neighborhood, funding the very machine that evicted you.
This isn't capitalism. It's a hostile takeover of the foundational pillar of American life. It's financial warfare against the middle class.
"Remdesivir Was Too Unethical To Put Into Ebola Clinical Trials In Africa Because It Had A 53% Kill Rate."
Dr David Martin, PhD
"The Gov't Chose Remdesivir That Kills 53% Of People...As The 'Drug Of Choice' For Covid."
Still Prescribed Today & Now Approved For Newborn Infants.
Remdesivir, under the brand name Veklury, is still the 1st line treatment in hospitals & outpatient clinics for the treatment of Covid.
Previously for ages 12 & up, the CDC & FDA have recently approved Remdesivir for infants less than 28 days old & it is now being marketed as treatment for newborns who weight at least 3 lbs.
The pediatric 'safety' clinical trial that brought the updated inclusion of newborns was based on 58 hospitalized infants who were injected with Remdesivir & monitored for only 10 days.
Remdesivir (Veklury) Toxicity Across All Age Groups For Multi Organ Failure Of Kidneys, Heart & Liver...
Kidneys: Patients treated with Remdesivir (Veklury) suffered 2.81X greater AKI Acute Kidney Injury & subsequent permanent renal damage.
Heart: Continuous cardiac monitoring is recommended for those receiving remdesivir because it has been documented to cause...
Sinus bradycardia (slow heart rate)
T-wave abnormalities
Prolonged QT interval
Ventricular fibrillation
Cardiac arrest
Heart block
Torsade de pointes, a fatal arrhythmia
Liver: On a cellular level, remdesivir has been demonstrated to be toxic to human hepatocytes, causing drug induced permanent liver damage.
Combine this damage with being placed on a ventilator & patients quickly develop pulmonary edema, causing their lungs to fill with fluid & drown to death.
Loved ones lost their lives while hospitals brought in millions of dollars of profit from government incentive programs & huge payments for each patient, each treatment & each diagnosis.

ROGAN: “What Donald Trump should do is when he leaves the office, run for governor of California. Just take over California and fix it. It would be hilarious!”
I’m turning 41, but I don’t feel like celebrating.
Our generation is running out of time to save the free Internet built for us by our fathers.
What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control.
Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU).
Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy.
A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away.
We’ve been fed a lie.
We’ve been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech.
By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we’ve set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction — moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological.
So no, I’m not going to celebrate today. I’m running out of time. WE are running out of time.
The stark contrast between K-12 public school spending and homeschooling costs reveals a troubling inefficiency in the public education system. With an expenditure of approximately $17,280 per student, public schools receive a substantial financial investment, ostensibly to provide quality education, resources, and infrastructure. Meanwhile, homeschooling families manage to educate their children at a fraction of the cost—around $1,000 per student—relying on parental effort, tailored curricula, and often modest materials. This discrepancy raises questions about how effectively public funds are being utilized, especially when outcomes lag so dramatically. While public schools must account for overhead costs like facilities, staff salaries, and administrative bloat, the return on investment appears dismal when only 33% of students achieve literacy proficiency, compared to an impressive 99% among homeschoolers.
The literacy gap underscores a deeper divide in educational outcomes that cannot be ignored. Public schools, constrained by standardized curricula, large class sizes, and bureaucratic oversight, often struggle to meet individual student needs, leaving many to fall through the cracks. Homeschooling, by contrast, offers flexibility and personalization—parents can adapt teaching methods, pace, and content to suit their child’s strengths and weaknesses, fostering higher engagement and mastery. The 99% literacy rate among homeschoolers suggests that this individualized approach yields results that outstrip the one-size-fits-all model of public education. Moreover, homeschooling parents, unbound by institutional mandates, can prioritize core skills like reading and writing over less essential programs, while public schools may dilute focus with extraneous initiatives or social agendas that fail to address foundational learning.
School choice emerges as a critical solution to this disparity, empowering families to decide what works best for their children. Competition from homeschooling, charter schools, and private institutions forces public schools to improve or risk losing students—and funding. The data suggests that money alone isn’t the answer; homeschooling’s success on a shoestring budget proves that innovation and parental involvement can trump lavish spending. By expanding school choice—through vouchers, tax credits, or relaxed homeschooling regulations—policymakers could bridge the gap between cost and quality, ensuring more students achieve literacy and beyond, regardless of their educational path. The numbers don’t lie: when parents have options, outcomes improve.
