@ZeeContrarian1 Well done. Would you always hold such a combo until expiration? The trade was deep in the red last week.I wonder if others can stomach these drawdowns (possibly only with smaller size). I took your idea with a little variation & added some
tail hedges (& got in at -3$).Thank you!
@ZeeContrarian1 Fine, we saw the move quickly and violently that you anticipated. What I think is much more valuable than “told you so” posts is the fact that you often structure your trades in a way that they can be profitable in much less convenient scenarios. That is where most people fail.
@ZeeContrarian1 I am a big fan of your calm and collected way of communication, but sometimes, I am a bit irritated. On 22th dec, you posted that you have no position in meli and that it had “bad omens“(bad chart & positive consensus).Curious: What made you change your mind on such short notice?
@ZeeContrarian1 Thank you for your honesty. I assume you have sold the stock. Do you expect them to cut dividends as well? Cause else I am inclined to hold.
@ZeeContrarian1 Honest question: I tried to close the trade at the European opening, Vix Spot @21,7. Quotes were complete shit, I would have made 2x barely even though the trade hit immediately. So,how are you making “bank”? Mind sharing at what prices you closed the trade?
@agnostoxxx I know, but I guess I did not get the irony of your post saying the reason behind the move is klaus and not traders 😊 I think for the moment it is all traders anticipating what you laid out 😊
@MichaelAArouet There are a lot of estimates going into that number. Michael Green had a nice piece on this. Long story short: they are not trending down, but rather slightly up. Not much of a difference for the “lagger”-camp - hike-effect barely visible as >50% debt matures past 2030 (for spx)
@TheMarketDog@MichaelAArouet Living in a “big” city, I can tell you that prices have surely not increased this year. They decreased in areas that are not that attractive. But overall, the main decrease is in transaction speed and volume. The Markt has basically come to a nearly full stop.
@OmerRozen_ Thx for sharing. Since you often don’t work with regular spreads, may I ask if you have a stop loss or take profit on this trade? You can realise your calculated max gain only on the day of expiry.
@kittysquiddy Our sources (Ukrainians with direct contacts to multiple cities) confirm rolling (scheduled) Blackouts, but cities like Kiev are running orderly. Most people got small generators to run essentials. No massive movement. Casualties about 150-200/day.
@kittysquiddy Exactly. Sold “thanksgiving calls” and euro longs today, but mostly out of caution. Seeing a lot of hedging or outright shorting among German asset managers to “save” Q4, painful since they often use DAX as base index. Unwind still to come.
@ValueWizardry@kittysquiddy Certainly. Talked to head of large European resi/commercial re agency today, he was fully delusional. Everything is apparently fine - “people don’t stop buying because of higher rates”. Local agencies seem more concerned as new business has been drying up for half a year now.
