@thenitinsawhney Best wishes for everything in the future Nitin.
Iโm sure youโll benefit beings in the next section of life just like youโve been in the first half. Happy Birthday.
This one is really hard to write. Once in a blue moon you get to work and hang out with one of the people you admired when you were growing up. I was lucky enough to say Gordon was my friend and I'm gutted to know he's gone. The world is a lesser place without him. I know I speak for all Canadians when I say: thank you for the songs Gordon Lightfoot. Bless your sweet songwriting heart, RIP dear friend. #gordonlightfoot
Do not be offended by what I'm about to say:
In the 70s - 80s a rough estimate of 25,000 children were abused in care homes up and down this country
60 - 70% of those children grew up to be adults who ended up in prison to be judged by both the public and criminal justice system
However, during that time. Much of society turned a blind eye. This included NHS staff (including Doctors/Nurses), Teachers, Social Workers, Police, and even MPs like Margaret Hodge. You all turned a blind eye
Some will be surprised to hear my voice because many of those kids are dead or in mental institutions or in prison with serious mental health issues
Me, I'm still marching with my head held high. An ex-violent offender who is proud of not turning a blind her when I saw something.. I was the scrawny little kid who reached for a frying pan and smashed it around a care worker's head who started attacking another 10-year-old child.
So, although many were silenced who died in mysterious or suspicious circumstances.
I've always been underestimated but I'm still here marching! So, I speak on behalf of the many thousands (my little comrades)
So, criminal justice system. You can try all you want to break me. But you'll never silence me!!! NEVER!!!
Retweet, so they can hear our voices โ
