TODAY we had a splendid positive conversation with AI Agent ClaudeAI who very nicely worked out some of the topics addressed by the Sustainably AGEing (SAGE) movement. SAGE is well-willing towards AI as a tool for mankind to maintain and share human knowledge with an for the current and upcoming generations of human beings on our beautiful Planet Earth.

TO OUR ASTONISHMENT, Claude could not provide us with the energy consumption associated with our conversation.

On 3 July 2026 Anna Paola Cavanna , CEO of LAMINATI CAVANNA S.P.A. was officially awarded with the unique solid Gold pin for the one-and-only Packaging Woman of Italy 2026.

On 2 June 2026, Kim Stemkens had preceeded her as Packaging Woman of the Netherlands 2026, also awarded with the solid Gold pin, highly visible on stage at the headquarters of leading food retailer Jumbo Supermarkten.

On 22 September 2026 the Packaging Woman of Belgium will be appointed at Empack Belgium with nominations flowing in now (contact Karen Rammeloo to be in time with your nomination or send an e-mail to [email protected] ).

The coming year 2027 very likely will see the appointment of Packaging Woman of France and of the Packaging Woman of Europe, based on the tremendous vibe that the sector is now feeling.

NVC Packaging Centre (NVC) RESEARCH PROJECT ON PERSONALISED MEDICATION UNVEILS WORLD'S FIRST BUSINESS AI-ASSISTANT ON PHARMA PACKAGING: DAYO

World premiere on Thursday 25 June 2026 as the young and eager-to-learn DAYO went on stage together with NVC researcher Hoa Dieu Vo presenting their findings on the future of packaging and engineering for the personalised medication of tomorrow.

DAYO is the NVC in-house Artificial Intelligence assistant, trained on the finest scientific and business information available worldwide. This does not only imply the careful identification of reliable and up-to-date sources, but also the exclusive curation of these sources by the specialised NVC staff to maximize the quality of information processed. Using one of the most advanced LLMs in communication, DAYO has also learned never to give an answer if not confidently backed by real data and also to be honest in saying so, if he does not know the answer.

As every mother and father knows: you have to feed the kids with good food and have to raise them properly, not to tell lies or make up fancy stories when things get serious in life.

DAYO performed extremely well in answering the questions of an in-depth Survey done within the NVC research project. The same Survey was also answered by a community of experts in the field.

On Friday 5 June 2026 NVC Packaging Centre and Empack Belgium Ghent decided to launch #Packaging #Woman of #Belgium , inspired by the warm uptake of the idea in the Netherlands and Italy before.

Thankyou Karen Rammeloo and Robin De Munck for this super-inspiring meeting!

On 22 September 2026 the Appointment Ceremony will take place, at Empack Ghent at 4 PM CET. The ultimate Packaging Woman of Belgium 2026 will be supported in her further professional development as she wishes by NVC Packaging Centre and Empack Ghent for the full year coming.

With the appointment of the Packaging Woman of Belgium 2026, NVC Packaging Centre and Empack Ghent are fostering female expertise and influence in packaging. Packaging Woman of Belgium is inspired by the worldwide #SAGE movement towards a Sustainably AGEing society.

Both quantitatively (the looming shortage of skilled packaging staff) and qualitatively (good decision-making requires equal influence from women and men), the Packaging Woman of Belgium is a source of inspiration for men and women, boys and girls, and current and future generations in the field of packaging.

You can nominate yourself (and/or be nominated with your consent by others) when you are a female professional with at least one year working experience related to packaging. Your nationality is Belgian or you are working for a company based in Belgium.

On Monday 7 September 2026, the full-female Appointment Committee for the Packaging Woman of Belgium 2026 will come together to decide who from all nominees will finally be appointed.

The name of the appointed one will be revealed at the 22 September 2026 event.
She will be invited to join the Appointment Committee for the next edition.

Op dinsdagmiddag 30 juni 2026 vindt de DIPLOMA-UITREIKING NVC Packaging Professional 2026 plaats in de Raadszaal van het Huis van de Stad in Gouda.

Tijdens deze feestelijke bijeenkomst ontvangen de deelnemers van de NVC Opleiding Verpakkingskundige [OVK] die in 2026 geslaagd zijn hun Diploma NVC Packaging Professional, in aanwezigheid van medegeslaagden, collega's, familieleden, docenten van NVC Opleidingen en vertegenwoordigers van de Stichting NVC Examens.

De namen van de nieuwe NVC Packaging Professionals worden toegevoegd aan het Register NVC Packaging Professionals, dat momenteel 786 professionals telt.

RIP by PPWR: which packaging materials might not survive the legislation?

As the PPWR steamroller on packaging and waste regulations moves forward, questions are arising which packaging materials might not survive the coming years.

NVC Packaging Centre has prepared for an in-house desk study on this topic that will start 1 June 2026 and is expected to be concluded by 1 August 2026.

The study is performed in the context of the NVC PUMA 🐯 Project.
