Non-retaliation is the fruit of regeneration--the Spirit's transforming work in a true believer. Only those who have received mercy, can extend mercy. Therefore, the believer's refusal to retaliate is not cowardice, but strength. It displays the cross-shaped life of one who is dying to self, and living for the glory of God."
