I spent 2 years trying to prove I was an American citizen. Texas DL renewal, had the real ID since 2018. But Abbott enacted “the, well we are going to really check act.”
Am I a patriot? Because dude’s response at DMV was simply “Patriot Act.” Like 3x he said it…….my response was, “But that was to combat foreign terrorism after 9/11……this is 2023”.

~50 years ago I was born overseas. Dad, now a retired general, both grandfather’s retired after full careers as army officers. Maybe 90 years for the 3 of them (WWII, Korea, Vietnam Maternal GF. Paternal grandfather WWII, Korea retired after Nam. Dad, 2 Nam tours-silver star w/oak leaf cluster, brigade commander-Desert Storm.

I worked for the DOD/Army bro, FBI background check, student loans (take them,), had voted since I could at 18…WTF is going on??
So I drove without a valid license, couldn’t get on a plane. DOS in Virginia had like 1 person working in the office of “Phone has to be on speaker and ring for no less than 1 hour to talk to the, person handling ‘you’re old and this shit is on paper some where.’”
Office hours were 7am-1pm M-F my time.
Fucking nightmare. Really unbelievable. I was and have never felt so utterly helpless.
Rep. Veronica Escobar’s (Fed) office just sent me tons of emails, text messages, and meeting times, town hall type of events, and only about immigrating and names of attorneys specializing in immigration law.
Cesar Blanco (TX State Senator) extremely effective with my DMV problem and it took maybe 6-8 weeks after he was involved to get a DL. I give him an “A,” but the 7 months to get there was excruciating. Escobar’s office receives a big fat “F.” Office and staff completely fucking tone deaf over there, and honestly felt like a their only job or focus was on assisting people wanting to immigrate. Good job people just keep checking that box out of stupidity. Is she working for American citizens? Guarantee a huge, or the largest percentage of employees/staff are being paid by tax dollars, donations, and citizens are not on the receiving end of that payout or effort. We are being ripped off.
Many folks have had courthouses burn, destroyed by tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, etc. tons of people out there are also affected.
I considered going the less than 2 miles and crossing the border, then entering illegally under Biden…would I have gotten free shit?
