#WeRemember PFC Louis Dorsey of Gladstone Ave in the East End along the RR. He enlisted in June 1942. He served in the 10th Mountain Division. He was #KIA #OTD 23 April 1945 as they crossed the Po River. He is buried @usabmc Florence Cemetery. #WWII

#WeRemember Coxswain James McHale of Poplar St in the West End. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1940 at age 17 & began active duty less than a year later. He served on the ammunition ship USS Kilauea. He was injured & died 25 April 1942. He is buried at St Joseph Cemetery. #WWII

#WeRemember PVT Lee Nelson originally of Knox County, KY & then of Linwood. He was married to Ceclia before enlisting. He worked as a laborer with Crosley & Denker Construction. He served in the 351 Infantry & was #KIA 20 May 1944. He is buried at Mt Moriah Cemetery. #WWII

#WeRemember PFC Drexel Vest of Morgan, KY & then Mt Adams. He served in the 322 Fighter Squadron. He was killed when the transport HMT Rohna was sunk on 26 Nov 1943. This sinking cost over 1000 Allied soldiers their lives. He is remembered @usabmc North Africa America Cemetery.

#WeRemember PFC Herlin Turpin originally of Lancaster, KY & then of Walnut Hills. He was working as a shoe repairman when he enlisted. He served in the segregated 637 Port Co. He died in New Guinea shortly after #WWII ended on 31 Oct 1945. He is buried in Lancaster Cemetery.

#WeRemember Maj George James Oxrider Jr. of @cityofdayton. He was #KIA #OTD 9 April 19 when his #B17, "Iron Bird"was attacked enroute to Posen, Poland & crashed in the Baltic. He was awarded the #DistinguishedFlyingCross. He is buried @usabmc Ardennes American Cemetery. #WWII

#WeRemember Sgt Robert “Pohly” Pohlmeyer grew up in Pleasant Ridge. Upon graduating from@WithrowTigers ‘42 he enlisted & served as a ball turret gunner in a #B24. On 8 April 1944 he was KIA on a mission to Langenhagen, Germany. He is buried @usabmc Ardennes American Cemetery.

#WeRemember SP4 Grover Pierson Jr of Bloom St in South Fairmount. He was an Armor Crewman in the 5th Infantry Division. He was killed in a non-combat automobileaccident #OTD 7 April 1971 in Vietnam. He is buried @sgcemetery and remembered @VVMF.

@OperBenjamin I just saw your account and thought that maybe you could help. Capt. Richard Frillman (O-691981) is buried with a Latin cross but was identified as being Jewish. Can you help?

#WeRemember CPT Richard R Frillman who grew up in North Avondale & attended @HughesSTEMHS. He was a navigator on B-17 and was fatally wounded on a mission in Sept 1944. He died of his injuries 8 Oct 1944. He is buried @ArlingtonNatl. #WWII

He is buried with a Latin Cross, however he is identified as being Jewish by the National Jewish Welfare Board. @ArlingtonNatl, @VANatCemeteries, @usabmc any ideas of why this would have occurred?
