Ecuadorians in Minnesota had almost 12,000 pending immigration cases and 1,900+ pending asylum cases before the surge (FOX 9). Two open questions we're working on: whether open cases became an arrest pathway, and whether data from Palantir's Ecuador customs contract reaches ICE. National comparison underway.
@alfredovelazco@PalantirTech Our data shows ICE arrests by nationality. It doesn't show what software was used or how anyone was identified.
The name matters less than the checks. Per officials who spoke to Bloomberg, the Feb 28 Minab school strike traced to a stale database entry that was fed into an AI targeting system and trusted without a fresh look. 123 children died. The Pentagon report is still unreleased.
Re brand all you want. Just verify the data before you kill innocent people.
A major stated reason for ICE's Minnesota surge was deporting undocumented Somali immigrants. ICE's own data: 106 arrests from Somalia, fewer than 3%. Ecuador: 1,026. Mexico: 885.
