There’s something really unsettling about the way Love Island handled Aniya’s experience, especially when you look at how differently other islanders were treated. Other people were given space to talk about the hate they received and even got public apologies, but Aniya, who has faced so much relentless harassment, including a lot of racially charged hate from KC’s fans, never got that same opportunity. Instead, it felt like production chose to focus on the easier white-on-white drama while completely ignoring what was being thrown at a Black woman. And honestly, that silence says a lot. Aniya has had to deal with all of the hate by herself and once again it’s being swept under rug.
