After fourteen years at @Ligonier and more than 1,000 episodes of Renewing Your Mind, I’m stepping into a new season.
I’m deeply grateful for the people, the places, the conversations, and the many evidences of the Lord’s kindness along the way.
It has been a privilege to serve, to learn, and to help carry forward a teaching ministry that has meant so much to me and to so many. God used @RCSproul in countless lives, and I will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to serve alongside him.
I’m looking forward to a brief season of rest with my family and am hopeful for what is ahead. I would value your prayers as I seek the Lord’s direction for this next chapter.
Grace and peace.
I could text you a voice memo every morning?
Seriously though, recording in the studio was the easiest and most enjoyable part of my @RYMRadio and #AskLigonier contributions. And if I sounded too Australian, I probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity as no one would be able to understand me. So there are benefits to sounding more British on occasion.
Believe God’s Word and power more than you believe your own feelings and experiences. Your Rock is Christ, and it is not the Rock which ebbs and flows, but your sea. —Samuel Rutherford
Seek not to grow in knowledge chiefly for the sake of applause, and to enable you to dispute with others; but seek it for the benefit of your souls. —Jonathan Edwards
@megbasham Thank you for this honest piece and the great comfort of God’s providence. As Spurgeon said, “The sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which the child of God rests his head at night, giving perfect peace.”
May God continue to grant you His peace.
For there is no one so great or mighty that he can avoid the misery that will rise up against him when he resists and strives against God. —John Calvin
There should be no dichotomy between a relationship with God and doctrine.
As a famous theologian once said, “Everyone’s a theologian.” That is, we all hold to doctrines when it comes to answering questions like, “Who is God?” “What is He like?” “What is the gospel?” “Who is Jesus?”
If we love God, we should desire to know more about Him and what He has revealed to us in His Word. That takes prayerful study and effort.
To despise doctrine is to despise knowing more about the God you claim to love.
