Ok hear me out… When Chayka was hired lots of people were saying, “Nobody’s gonna trade with him, everyone hates him”
So what does he do? Intentionally gets fleeced on his first deal. Suddenly 31 GMs are flocking to see what else he’s willing to give away.
Now he gets to work.
TRADE: We’ve acquired defenceman Emil Andrae, goaltender Samuel Ersson and a third-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for goaltender Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit
We are thrilled to share the news that our partner Seth Weinstein has been appointed as a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto. Congratulations to Justice Weinstein!
@KassandraSeven@phreespeech@Laura_E_Adkins That’s not what I asked, but you’ve clearly proven you’re incapable of answering that question without deflecting to mention Israel. I really tried to understand your perspective. Have a good one
@KassandraSeven@Laura_E_Adkins I would love to hear how you think a coordinated attack, which saw SGBV “coincidentally” occur at various sites of the attack, cannot be understood as being systematic violence.
@KassandraSeven@Laura_E_Adkins So because the report didn’t explicitly use the word “systematic” in this case, you automatically deem it to be false? Are you capable of making any sort of analysis on your own?

@Darth2G@dhockey13 Ignoring the fact that saying all Matthews can do is score is blatantly false, he didn’t play on a line with any of those guys in his rookie year and Tavares wasn’t even on the team
@hockeyprick2@jpolly22 Have you not seen Hamas calling for an attack on Jews worldwide? Their charter explicitly states their desire to wipe out the entire Jewish population, not just in Israel. Many Jews are also critical of Israel, but I urge you to read about this before making uninformed comments
I have been contemplating what to post in regards to the atrocities occurring in Israel and feel this is appropriate.
This is a photo of me on a trip called March of the Living; a two week trip in which Jews from around the world spend the first week travelling through Poland visiting the unimaginable concentration and death camps that were used by the Nazis in an attempt to exterminate the Jewish people during the Holocaust. Here, I am sitting at a death camp called Treblinka, where Jews were sent to die. Nothing else.
The second week is spent in Israel, with the purpose of experiencing Jewish life in its most wonderful form. Eating falafel, swimming at the beach, and making new Jewish friends. It is beautiful.
To see the pure evil and animosity that once took place in Poland and across Europe now happening in Israel, a place that Jews alike are so proud of… a place we studied in school as kids… a place that is such a big part of who we are… it is just nauseating. To see “Gas the Jews” being chanted at rallies is unfathomable. It is dangerous. It is hate at the highest degree.
It is blatant anti-semitism.
Innocent people are being murdered and raped. Babies and children have been slaughtered. This is the lowest form of human existence. It is the purest kind of evil. It is unquestionably terrorism.
To our non-Jewish friends who have remained silent: know that your Jewish friends are hurting. A simple check-in text goes a long way because for a lot of us right now, being Jewish has never felt lonelier. To the ones who have spoken or reached out, you have no idea how greatly appreciated you are.
Most importantly, please, please keep the hostages in your hearts. Keep the soldiers who have, and continue putting their lives on the line in your hearts. They are heroes. Keep their families in your hearts. Keep their friends in your hearts.
Keep innocent Palestinians who did not ask for this in your hearts. They are hurting, too.
Keep Israel in your hearts.

We cannot let evil prevail.
Before the puck drops to begin the 2023-24 NHL season, I want to remind everyone that there are far more important things in life than hockey. The atrocities occurring in Israel right now are horrifying and seeing people celebrating them, even here in Canada, has been both disturbing and upsetting. Please do not lose track of the terrorism HAMAS is committing on the other side of the world, and the innocent lives that are being lost.
