Be honest. Are your cold emails better than AI?
I don't mean your very best email
I don't mean the crappiest AI email
Think of 90% of your emails and think of 90% of good AI emails.
honestly - do you do better than AI?
Based on the emails I get it’s pretty damn close.
If you can’t hold a job as an AE or a VP of sales for more than a year, please stop offering your services as a go to market advisor/engineer/consultant or whatever.
I am just a regular Canadian. I no longer feel like this is Canada. I am not sure what it is but it’s sure not the Canada I grew up in.
The fact that so many people feel like this sure means we are off the rails.
Canada should be the richest country in the world!
Canada First Conservatives will let our workers harvest 🇨🇦 resources for the world while bringing home powerful paycheques for our people.

Thrilled to launch Pod 2.0 - the ultimate AI pipeline coach for sellers 🚀
AI in sales isn’t just about writing emails or summarizing calls. 🥱
Pod is the new sales home 💜 https://t.co/jHC3wcHf6i
Here’s what we’ve been up to 👇
@PodWorkspace
@WillAllred117 The only thing that matters is if it works - and it does!
Most people still have no clue what AI really is anyway other than they think they are supposed to be using it
When you look at the GenAI space - I can't help but regret the challenge my personal brand has created for our product marketing.
Upside? Folks know we exist
Downside? Folks have NO idea what we do (especially for teams 😅)
"It's Ai... for... email?"
Yes, but not what you think. GenAI is a feature... not our product.
You see - we originally built Lavender before the "GPTs" were a thing. Now... anyone can build a ChatGPT wrapper. Add in a personal brand that skews heavy on cold email... aaaaand you immediately get lumped in w/ the "AI-SDR" gang.
If you're wondering, "What does Ai-SDR mean?" - It depends! haha
Most are glorified content management systems (CMS's) that pull against 3rd party data to trigger GenAI in workflows. Works well selling a single product to a single persona. Hard to go up market w/o excessive onboarding / support. Lot of time & effort before you see value.
You also have generic co-pilots. Generally useful - but, VERY hard to measure impact.
Not our end-game.
Frankly, automating the SDR is a trap. A 2.0 of the original problem created by auto-emails in sequencers.
What works today? Avoiding sameness. Humans are wired to avoid spending mental calories. So, if we all use AI to generate emails w/ a click of a button... you inevitably run into a lot of sameness.
Aka template 2.0.
The efficiency trap, or the promise of a silver bullet, creates an undeniable pull. We may be totally wrong in avoiding it, but we think avoiding it is the right thing to do.
People were frustrated that we didn't over-invest in Lavender "writing the email for you". I told everyone that it would quickly be commodity. (I was right)
There's value in generating the email... but not unless you get the workflow right (we fix this in our upcoming 3.0 launch 😜)
There's WAY more value in knowing if what was generated = good.
The real value though isn't in automating the SDR. It's (kinda) already been done.
The real value is found by turning email into an insight layer. Gong did this when they exploded onto the market. They saw the phone call layer and said - what if I made that useful?
It's why @thescottleese originally called us "The Gong for Email" when he wrote us an angel check.
Today - email is an action layer only. The rise of personalization means template analytics = directionally helpful (at best)
Want to know why a rep is struggling? Well... look at activity.
Did they send enough emails? Did they make enough calls?
What happens if you have two reps doing the same activity, same reply rate - different pipeline? You need a deeper look.
Our goal is to use AI to help create a new kind of conversational intelligence. Email intelligence. An email coaching platform.
Our goal is to give you confidence on:
- what to say
- how to say it
- who to say it to
- when to say it to them
- all given the context of that conversation
& that confidence (thx AI) can extend to every rep as they write.
Hard to understand why size of sales team was ever something people aspired to “I manage a team of 100” etc.
Way cooler and impressive to get to large revenue with as few people as possible
More efficient the better
With todays tools it possible
As @FlorinTatulea says…
