Until this case is dismissed, building DeFi - protocols, UIs, tooling carries real legal risk for everyone in this space. The outcome here affects all of us.
[Normies had a pretty interesting month tbh]
while most NFT projects still move like collections chasing volume, @normiesART keeps feeling more like an open on-chain tech ecosystem forming in real time.
the direction became way clearer throughout may.
1) agent NFTs are starting to become an actual thing
the OpenSea integration was prob the biggest moment of the month.
not just because “Normie Agents” launched there.
but because it pushed the idea of NFTs evolving beyond static PFPs into programmable on-chain identities tied to agents, AI, and customization.
still early af rn but you can already see where this is heading.
2) builders are actually building on top of Normies
500M+ API requests is kinda wild for a project this early.
that’s the part a lot of ppl overlook.
most NFT collections mainly generate trading activity.
Normies is starting to generate developer activity too.
- APIs
- custom tools
- customization layers
- builder integrations
- community experiments
that creates a way stronger long-term moat than pure speculation imo.
3) Lisbon looked more like culture building than event marketing
the NFC Summit prep honestly stood out.
- containers
- live murals
- artists painting pixels in public
- IRL meetups
- community spaces
it didn’t feel like a normal “conference booth” setup.
felt more like an internet-native art movement showing up physically.
4) holder conviction still looks strong
the 49x Normie sweep for 23.388 ETH was another important signal.
big buys happening this far into the cycle usually mean collectors are positioning long term, not just flipping momentum.
especially w:
- 0.45 ETH floor
- 1.94k ETH total volume
- 5.9% listed
that supply pressure is actually pretty healthy compared to most NFT markets rn.
5) “future is agentic” kinda summarized the whole month
that line wasn’t just a slogan.
everything they pushed in may points toward the same direction:
- AI agents
- on-chain identity
- customizable NFTs
- builder infrastructure
- internet culture slowly blending together
overall, may felt less like a normal NFT recap month.
more like watching early infrastructure get built for a future on-chain social layer.

yep doubling down on CROPS & neutrality
+ post-quantum
+ L2s as highly valuable differentiated distribution engines
+ scaling the L1 to serve as the shared root
There are many ways to reach the technological frontier and have a real impact on the future of the technology you are working on, but there is a small overlap between that and creating a durable, scalable company that could develop into having a moat. I now see that this is almost comically unlikely, and I appreciate the rare times when it does happen.
