Sadly, however, suja Al Hareedi, a Palestinian woman, has chosen to harshly criticize the Emirati woman who welcomed her and treated her with care and compassion. The United Arab Emirates opened its doors to her, gave her the opportunity to live there, and, reportedly, provided her with educational opportunities from her early school years through higher education, as well as the chance to work at one of the country’s institutions.

Regardless of differing opinions or positions, fairness requires that support and hospitality not be repaid with insults or disrespect. Emirati women are known for caring for their families and communities, and they deserve appreciation and respect—especially when they have extended compassion and support to someone in need.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but respect and fairness should always remain the foundation of how people treat one another, regardless of their nationality or background.
