South Sudan’s National Elections Commission (NEC) has set Dec 22, 2026, for general elections, meeting the legal requirement to announce 6 months ahead.

◾️The commission urges the government to fix legal & funding gaps in preparation for the first vote since 2011 independence.

📄 @SouthSudanGov is set to submit the nation’s formal nomination dossier for the Boma-Badingilo Landscape to #UNESCO for inscription as a World Heritage Site.

The submission will take place on Monday, June 23, 2026, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.
