My daddy was explaining to me the other day that we wouldn't have the concept of time without women, and how we should honour menstruation because that was the only thing telling us alongside the moon what a month was. I love speaking with my elders man.
That motherhood is valuable, that raising children is socially necessary, and that mothers are performing something of enormous importance to society should never have been surrendered to the opinion marketplace.
Millennials were raised on the idea that every opinion deserved to be heard, every identity accommodated, every perspective validated, and every disagreement negotiated into civility.
Mnakuanga weird sana. A man is actively calling out another man for abusing vulnerable young girls and then some of you start calling him “captain save-a-hoe.” Mnasahau your sisters or homegirls could easily end up being victims of that kind of abuse too? Men, let’s do better!
I met Dolly Parton once backstage at a concert. She was so incredibly gracious, warm, and kind to everyone. At one point, she leaned over to me and whispered "Ruto Must Go" Eternal rest to Dolly, she was such a darling and a legend!
Specifically told my in-laws that if they'd lay hands on my sister's tutaonana kando as men. We're good friends, coz to date I've drawn that line. Physically abuse a relative or a woman in my life, I am coming for you by the most unethical means.
A man says he'll stand up for his sisters/relatives against violent men & the men are in the quotes and replies mocking him? Are men okay? Really, is everything in your heads functional?
Hizo memes za pcea mnafufua zinanimaliza juu walifukuza mamangu kanisa when alikataa kuchukua madeni za shosho yangu after amekufa😭🤣🤣🤣🤣akasema ata zake halipi , wakamtumia wamama wa kanisa aambiwe asikuje sunday🤣🤣🤣😂😇😭😭
Kwa hiyo conversation ya watoto I will add and say, most people have internalised self hate from their childhood and that's why they project the way they do.
People have not healed their childhood traumas, and it's actively showing through their opinions.
I have had to change my mannerisms, how I speak, what I do infront of kids, being around them teaches you that they learn a lot by simply observing, especially if they like you. They're constantly watching you, and copying you.
