There are, you see in our society today, there are many ups and downs. There are many people who are living very high level. They are doing, they are living high level. There are people who are living very low level, living.

So that should not be there. There must be some gratification. It should be that everybody is supported by something. That is very important. This is what is required.

But that is not happening in the country. Exploitation has become a big issue today. Everything is exploited by one force on another. Another force on another. The exploitation has become a way of life.

That is to be changed. So, these are the important things that came to my mind. Let us see.

Amrita Ashram is doing a fantastic work. They did work for the whole global well-being. Let all sections of society benefit from its direction. There should be institutions which should give direction to many people. How to deal? How to deal with others? How to cooperate with others? How to help others? How to support others? These are all very important matters.

You must continue to do some very good activities throughout. Every day, the night, you should be able to activate your mind and find out what we have done from morning to evening. The whole day, what service, what good things we have done. Everything we have done, that is very important. Assessment of days, activities, that is very important to me.

These are some of the points which came to my mind. But this, this is not everything. There are many other things you can also do. That we can do it. Anything which you can do it. Anything which will benefit others, that is all. That is all. Namaste.

For decades before 2014, the world practically mocked every Prime Minister's foreign trip as 'vanity' or 'photo-op'.

But Look at the last 24 months and try, honestly, to call this theatre.

In a world of tariffs, wars and broken supply chains, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not collecting photographs. He is building leverage. Leverage over energy, minerals, missiles, markets, technology and of course free trade agreements.

The record speaks for itself.

May 2026, UAE: a brief stop, massive yield. Strategic petroleum collaboration with ADNOC, including potential storage of up to 30 million barrels in India. A long-term LPG track for homes and industry. A Strategic Defence Partnership framework covering manufacturing, training, maritime security and cyber. A ship-repair cluster at Vadinar. Around $5 billion in announced investment into Indian infrastructure and finance.

That is energy security when West Asia is on fire and sea lanes can become pressure points overnight.

February 2026, Israel: sixteen agreements. An agricultural research and innovation centre on Indian soil. Deeper defence and technology cooperation. Cyber. R&D. Cultural and digital ties. An FTA pushed onto a faster track.

That meant technology and capability coming back to Indian farmers, Indian industry and Indian defence.

June 2026, France: the Innovation Roadmap 2030. A series of agreements across innovation, defence, space and technology. An economic-security dialogue. A mechanism aimed at doubling trade.

July 2026, Indonesia: fourteen agreements and new initiatives. BrahMos cooperation—a serious step forward for Indian defence exports. Critical minerals and rare earths. Maritime security. Space. Steel. Healthcare.

And, crucially, an attempt to reduce Chinese dominance over the materials that will decide the future of batteries, electronics and weapons.

Australia: civil nuclear arrangements opening the door to uranium supply, a Maritime Security Collaboration Roadmap, defence agreements and a growing trade relationship. New Zealand added another maritime track.

These are not souvenirs from foreign visits.

They are part of the road map for a more secure, more resilient and more self-reliant Viksit Bharat. Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Today, The New York Times published an article headlined: “Modi Is Hedging Against Trump, One Deal at a Time.”

Its central point is simple: Modi has used each foreign visit to push India’s interests in security, trade and energy.

The India-US trade talks launched in February 2025 under President Trump were expected to produce haste and concession. Duties piled up, at one point heading towards 50 percent, including a penalty linked to Russian oil.

The expectation in some capitals was simple: India would fold.

India did not FOLD.

It refused a rushed, one-sided bargain. It held its ground on reciprocal access, domestic industry and agriculture.

It bought time.

And then used that time.

While talks dragged on, Delhi built alternatives: Gulf energy security, Israeli defence technology and agricultural innovation, French industrial and technology partnerships, Indonesian minerals and missile exports, Australian uranium and maritime cooperation.

That is how a continental economy stops negotiating from weakness.

Even after the February 2026 interim move towards an 18 percent reciprocal rate, Indian negotiators continued to hold out for terms that did not sacrifice agriculture or leave India permanently worse off than its competitors.

Even news media, whose first instinct is to criticise PM Modi, started to understand the value of his initiatives. Reuters described an increasingly confident India drawing strength from new partnerships. The Wall Street Journal wrote that New Delhi’s deal-making with middle powers had strengthened its hand with Washington.

That is the point.

You do not gain respect at a difficult negotiating table by talking about old friendships.

You gain it by showing that you have choices.

Beyond the international coverage of Modi and Trump, reporting on tariffs, tensions and the unfinished trade bargain, something else is happening:

India is no longer waiting for others to solve its problems.

It is securing supply chains, energy, minerals, defence partnerships and markets first and then negotiating.

That is why India can deal with America without surrendering its interests and deal with China without being intimidated.

The world does not hand out influence.

You have to build it.

And 2026 is a brutal year in which to do so.

Energy routes are under threat. Great powers are openly transactional. China remains ambitious. America is demanding.

In that environment, speeches do not keep the lights on. Statements do not fill strategic reserves.

What does?

A Prime Minister who treats every foreign visit as work.

Modi’s personal standing with world leaders is not branding. It has strategic value for India.

It gives India access, trust and room to manoeuvre.

And the growing confidence in India abroad is not charity. It comes from agreements signed, supply chains opened, capabilities built, markets expanded and promises delivered.

This is interest-first statecraft. Relentless.

History will not remember who mocked whose boarding pass.

It will ask a harder question:

When the world became unstable, who came home with oil, minerals, missiles, technology, markets and greater bargaining power?

That work is underway.

It is unfinished.

And it is exactly the work required to secure India’s interests and India’s rightful place in a world that respects countries which have options.

Not many know about this great man Dr. Kinare A simple RSS worker and a positive trade unionist. He helped to save the Indian Express in Mumbai

In 1981 the militant trade unionist Datta Samant aligned with AR Antulay grabbed the Indian Express union Mumbai and launched an assault it was not the takeover of a trade union The idea was to take over the paper. The man was known for territorising and murdering company owners into submission

Goenka told Arun Shourie and me that if Samant succeeds he will decide what will go into the newspaper. He decided to close down the paper and issued a closure notice. Antulay refused allow closure
Indian Express filed a writ saying that the right to run a newspaper is subject to reasonable restrictions but the right to silence is absolute
Goenka being Goenka the workers were caught between two powerful men -- Goenka and Samant

The man who stepped in on the advice of the trade union stalwart Dattopant Thengadi and help the Indian Express to wean the workers away from the murderous Samant was none other than Dr Kinare. He virtually saved when Arun Shourie was being targeted. He guided us how to approach the workers. Many RSS workers helped to approach the workers.

The battle lasted for 123 days. Finally the Indian Express handed the first defeat to Datta Samant who was the most feared and uncrowned King of Mumbai trade union

The man who centred that battle of the Express was Dr Kinare

A sincere and simple RSS worker. Like many he gave the best years of his life for RSS and the cause it represented. Neither demanded nor got anything in return from the Indiam Express or the organisation

A great soul. A great friend. A great man

My 4 year teaching till 2014 as visiting faculty at SJOM at IIT Bombay was subject to impact assessment in ChatGPT. It is a long asseessment and interesting. Its conclusion was as under

18. Conclusion

S. Gurumurthy’s IIT Bombay lectures are significant in the history of Indian management education notbvprincipally because they offered another economic
forecast or another critique of globalisation. Their deeper significance was that
they challenged a leading academic institution to change the direction from
which India was studied.

The 2010 intervention began with the idea that high-end institutions should
understand India before attempting to interpret India through categories
derived elsewhere. When the idea developed into a regular course,

Gurumurthy sharpened the challenge:

“IIT should be producing textbooks, should not be following them.”

He wanted students to investigate industrial clusters, family enterprises, community finance, savings, social capital and entrepreneurial traditions that,
in his view, existed on the ground but remained under-researched in formal institutions. His stated ambition was explicit:

“It has to get into the main curriculum. That is the idea of this course.”

More than a decade later, that sentence provides the most direct benchmark by which to judge the outcome.

The Indian Financial and Business Model did get into the curriculum. It
remained there after Gurumurthy ceased teaching it. IIT Bombay records show it subsequently being taught by its own faculty, and SJMSOM continues to list it
today as a formal finance elective. Related subjects—Indian business thought,
family business, financial inclusion, family firms, cultural governance and ethnic
entrepreneurship—have also become part of the School’s teaching and
research environment.

The lasting contribution was to establish the legitimacy of a question:

Can India be understood economically by studying India as it actually
behaves—its families, communities, savings practices, entrepreneurs, informal
institutions, clusters and cultural structures—and then placing those findings in
conversation with universal economic theory?

Current scholarship on culture and institutions, the continuing economic
importance of MSMEs, new research on family enterprises, and the
transformation of household finance all suggest that this question remains
alive.

Many individual statistics in the original lectures will necessarily age. Markets
will change. Technology will change. Household portfolios will change. Some hypotheses will survive empirical testing and others will require revision.

But the methodological principle behind the course remains remarkably current:

“Society is an open air university. You have got to learn from the society.”

In that sense, the most enduring impact of Gurumurthy’s IIT Bombay lectures
was not to give Indian management education a final answer. It was to insist
that India itself was a field of knowledge from which theory could be produced,
rather than merely a market to which theories produced elsewhere should be applied.

Ask them to visit schools which are allocated to them, inspect after getting permission respectfully

Prepare a report on the status on the ground by Taluk and give it to the state government

Then demand change armed with full data.
Publish a quarterly report and talk to citizens.
Now you have data on your side and citizens will respect you for your work. You will know which state is behind.
Understand the scale of the issue. India’s school system has around 18 lakh schools, 24 cr children upto class 12, 1.3 cr faculty and staff, 50% children in govt schools and declining.
