It is astoundingly tone deaf and callous for TransAlt lobbyists to be pushing for the 72nd St bike lane expansion which invites high speed e-bikes/e-scooters. Two cyclists just died in a senseless accident. Until we have real legislation that addresses e-bikes/e-scooters and how dangerous they are for others in bike lanes, car lanes, and even sidewalks, there should be an immediate moratorium on any new bike lanes. @NYCMayor @NYC_DOT @SpeakerMenin @NYCCouncil @nyc_evsa

Classes of E-bikes + stand-up E-scooters are hard to discern by sight. This is why all must be registered + have a plate. The "bike lobby" has opposed this. They also suggested ENFORCEMENT is racist, or an ICE invite. Chaos has been their policy, + chaos caused this. Tragic, sad.
