Some clouds and early day showers give way to a decent day. Temperatures top out in the mid 60s (!) with a bit of a chill in the breeze this afternoon, but we avoid any significant rain or unsettled conditions. The vibes are alright!

Today brings highs in the low 70s, lows in the upper 50s, and northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph.

Highs dip to around 65 tomorrow and Wednesday.

💨 Northeast winds will steadily increase through the week, turning gusty Thursday and Friday with gusts of 25 to 40 mph.
🌧️ There is a low chance (25%) of scattered drizzle late tonight into early tomorrow morning, with less than 0.1 inches expected.
🌊 A Rip Current Statement is in effect today, and more are likely this week as gusty winds churn up high, rough waves.

A decade ago, NYC had over a million students in the public schools. This year we have 885,000. Projected to decline by another 150k over next decade.

That drop has left 219 schools with enrollment of less than 200 students each. Some are so small they can't even field a sport team.

This is not sustainable. As painful as it is, there is going to have to be some consolidation of schools with sharply declining enrollment.
