Had a productive meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh ji, and held detailed discussions on strengthening the sports ecosystem and expanding opportunities for the talented youth of the state.

As someone with a deep association with sports and a distinguished background in Taekwondo, the Hon’ble Chief Minister brings a unique athlete’s perspective to governance and sports development. Our discussion focused on strengthening grassroots talent identification, expanding Khelo India initiatives, enhancing SAI-supported training ecosystems, athlete welfare, sports infrastructure, and high-performance pathways for young athletes across Manipur.

Manipur has consistently produced champions who have brought immense pride to the nation, and under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, we remain committed to further strengthening sports infrastructure, scientific athlete support systems, and world-class training opportunities across the Northeast. 🇮🇳🏅

Visited the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) Assam and the High Performance Centre in Guwahati today, where I had the opportunity to interact with talented young athletes, coaches, and sports science professionals working towards India’s sporting future.

Encouraging to witness the growing integration of sports science, recovery systems, performance analysis, and athlete-focused training infrastructure in the Northeast. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India’s sports ecosystem is undergoing a transformational shift with stronger grassroots pathways and world-class high-performance support for our athletes.

I was accompanied during the visit by Shri Kausar Jamil Hilaly, Special Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Welfare; Shri Ankur Bharali, Director, Department of Sports and Youth Welfare; Shri D.K. Mittal, Regional Director, SAI Guwahati; the High Performance Managers of KISCE Assam; along with senior officials from the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.

The energy, discipline, and determination of these young athletes reflect the confidence of a new sporting India preparing for global excellence. 🇮🇳🏅

Proud to join the special CWG 2030 edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle at IIT Guwahati alongside inspiring athletes, youth, and fitness enthusiasts.

From cycling through the beautiful IIT Guwahati campus to celebrating the spirit of fitness, unity, and sporting ambition, today reflected the energy of a New India moving confidently towards Commonwealth Games 2030.

The enthusiasm of the Northeast, the participation of young citizens despite the rains, and the presence of distinguished athletes like Commonwealth medallists Sushila Devi Likmabam and Jayanta Talukdar made the occasion truly memorable.

Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the Fit India Movement continues to transform fitness into a nationwide people’s movement while strengthening India’s sporting culture from the grassroots.
