He can flat out play and all the tools are there… could shoot up through the system if all goes right.

I’m far higher on him than anyone else in the draft class

Aiden Robbins (2026 3rd rounder) went 2-for-3 with a 406 ft bomb in his High-A debut...

Many scouts had him as a 1st/2nd round talent, so this already looks like a steal for the Mets.

He's rolling early: .284/.376/.494/.870 through 22 games.

Billy Amick smashes his 35th HR of the minor league season as his tremendous season continues.

Amick has picked up right where he left off at AAA Syracuse and has smashed 5 HRs and has an .800+ OPS in 12 games since getting promoted.

Quietly one of the best pitchers in the South Atlantic League this August... 3-1, 1.17 ERA over 23 IP in 4 starts with 27 Ks to 11 walks and a .152 BA against. 20-year-old lefty who was incredibly sharp... hope the trend continues

Clay Holmes has been excellent all season: 2.09 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, .203 BAA.

He’s been even sharper since the Cubs got him at the deadline:

29.1 IP, 1.55 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 3.22 FIP

I’ll always root for Clay and wouldn’t mind bringing him back this offseason.

Put it in the books… the Mets take the opening game of the series behind 5.1 IP of scoreless ball from Robert Stock and a HR from Mark Vientos in his return from the IL.

Stock had the best outing of his Mets tenure going 5.1 scoreless with 4 Ks, 5 hits, and 0 walks… that was the key for Stock who had really struggled with control and free passes in his previous outings.

His stuff looked sharp today generating 11 swings and misses while generally avoiding hard contact and not allowing a single XBH… Stock earned his first win of the season and as a Met with that performance.

Nate Lavender bounced back after not being able to strand runners for Christian Scott this weekend… he recorded 2 outs to preserve Stock's line on the day. Lavender continues to hold a 0.00 ERA through 11 career outings (very impressive).

Daniel Duarte struggled for a 2nd straight night after allowing a run in just 1 of his 17 outings prior to these 2… I don't think this is anything to be concerned about, just a guy who was eventually going to cool off. He has a 2.19 ERA and 0.81 WHIP… the results have been very legit.

Speaking of legit results, Kodai Senga showed up in a big way again nailing down his 5th save of the year… Senga has a 1.74 ERA since moving into the high leverage role at the start of August.

Chris Devenski relieved Duarte in the 8th and got a key out to keep it at 3-2… Devenski has looked solid in his very limited time since being recalled from AAA.

Ian Seymour had sharp stuff tonight generating 19 swings and misses and striking out 7 of the first 9 Mets he faced on his way to 10 Ks in 6.1 IP of 3 run ball… the Mets offense still battled for 10 hits with everyone in the starting lineup getting one except leadoff hitter Francisco Lindor.

Mark Vientos made a statement return from the IL with a blast out to left center… Vientos was red hot on his rehab assignment and he needs to impress the Mets in the final month after the disastrous year he has had so far.

Jared Young stayed hot by mashing another double to right center - .298 ba + .802 OPS in August

AJ Ewing has struggled mightily in the 2nd half but had 2 nice hits today… hopefully a positive sign that the bat is turning a corner, he's reached base 4 times over the last 2 days.

Francisco Alvarez had a clutch 2 out RBI with an opposite field single… I love seeing that approach from Alvy and him not trying to do too much.

Christopher Morel made 2 stellar plays in LF, one with his arm and one with the bases loaded, to preserve Stock's scoreless outing and save at least 2 runs… he also added a hit in 3 ABs.

September call up Justin Hagenman gets the start tomorrow as the Mets go for the series win at Tropicana Field… #LGM

The Mets open up a 3 game series with one of the top teams in baseball in the Tampa Bay Rays… the Rays are also playing some of their best baseball of the year at 18-9 in August.

Robert Stock gets the ball tonight for his 6th start as a Met… he has a 7.40 ERA across his first 5 starts since getting called up. Stock has flashed + level stuff and gotten a lot of swing and miss but the lack of control, walks, and high pitch counts have really hindered his ability to consistently get results… tough task tonight too.

Young lefty Ian Seymour gets the ball for the Rays with a 4.21 ERA in 41 appearances (11 starts) this year… Christopher Morel is the only Met who has faced him, going 0/1. Seymour has looked better lately with a 3.77 ERA and 38 Ks over his last 5 starts.

Juan Soto gets an off day after playing both Saturday and Sunday coming off the injured list… this is just a matter of managing the injury and making sure he goes into the offseason healthy.

Lindor will continue to lead off with Ewing really struggling… Bichette follows in the 2 hole and he's been stellar in August with a .292 BA and .852 OPS.

Mark Vientos returns to the lineup after homering 3 times in his final rehab appearance… he went on a tear in AAA with 5 HRs since Andy Green said he'd have to earn his place again.

Christopher Morel gets the start against the lefty, joined by Semien, Ewing, and Alvy at the bottom of the lineup… Semien had a nice series in Houston going 4/9 with 2 BB, hopefully he keeps the good vibes going.

The Mets also lost Luis Robert Jr. today as the Orioles claimed him off waivers for their stretch run… Baltimore takes on all the remaining salary plus the team option/buyout. Good move for the Mets to save $5 million on a player who clearly had no market at the deadline.

The Mets look to close out August on a high note tonight at Tropicana Field… first pitch at 6:40… #LGM
