Cross slot MEV is NOT always zero sum.
@get_optimum analyzed 33k+ Ethereum slots:
- ~10% of slots left big MEV on the table that never fully carried over.
- Total lost value = 1/6 of all accepted bids Some misses were 500x median.
Example: One slot accepted ~0.9 ETH… then missed ~2 ETH bids. Next slot recovered almost nothing.
Timing games matter. Delaying (safely) captures short lived value.
Ethereum's real bottleneck isn't just gas it's data propagation.
With only 12 seconds per block, duplicate traffic and network delays reduce the time available for consensus, giving nearby validators a speed advantage.
@get_optimum uses Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC) to send encoded data instead of duplicate packets, making block propagation faster, reducing congestion and helping Ethereum scale more efficiently while supporting decentralization.
