A pleasure to represent Commissioner Rob Rogers AFSM at the NSW RFS - MIA District Award Cermony. With years of service ranging from 10 to over 70, many of these volunteers have dedicated a significant portion of their life to protecting others, and for that we say thank you.

If you're heading away over the Kings Birthday long weekend, we are reminding everyone to drive safely on the roads. With widespread rainfall forecast for many parts of the state, please drive to the conditions and remember to never drive through floodwater.

With this week being National Volunteer Week, we are highlighting some of our fantastic volunteers from around the state, just like Barb Bloomfield. Joining the RFS in 2002, she has served alongside other family members and held the position of Captain and Senior Deputy Captain.

Today the RFS paid tribute to Group Captain Dale Bowles, who passed away earlier this month while attending a car fire in the Moama area. At his home on the banks of the Murray River, Dale’s family, friends and RFS colleagues gathered for a Service funeral among the gum trees.
