Tony Avella has been absent for almost the entire campaign. He showed up to ONE event in Douglaston and didn't perform very well (to say the least), then proceeded to cancel every single debate and civic forum for the remainder of the election, including the NY1 debate. Pathetic.

The Chronicle finally asked him why he's been a no-show, and he gave this lame response -- turns out, he's scared. Yep, turns out our grassroots campaign of working-class people, retirees, and homeowners is just too much for Tony Avella to handle in person.

So how can voters expect Tony Avella to fight for the district when he's too scared to show up to debate me face to face? What an absolute joke.

Tony Avella can't take the heat because he knows I call him out on his lies. He'd prefer to lie about me behind my back, where he can't be challenged.

Oh well. It's not going to help him. Tuesday can't come fast enough. Good to hear he's using the 'same strategy' he's always used though -- you know, the one that lost him two elections and barely got him though an ultra-low-turnout Dem primary by 100 votes against a complete unknown.
