@BarowskiJack Yes I too am worried about what is in store for the north east in years to come. Not only have I noticed rain and weather being worse but the increase in humidity had caused mosquito and other parasitic insects to thrive which creates a new set of problems on its own.
@NicoleW16484510 Increased temperatures will cause many detrimental impacts to freshwater systems. Hopfully we can find a way to mitigate and reduce stream temperature changes in order to reduce its impacts until the global warming issue is solved

The recent rainfall caused college brook’s discharge to dramatically increase. The increased velocity of the stream washed so much sand and silt into my leaf litter bag and it took awhile to clean it all out. I’m curious how much sand was washed into Durham reservoir #AquaEco2018
Plant-based 'road salt' good for highways but not for insects https://t.co/2ZvKHrvMSm via @APSPhysiology@EurekAlert Its awesome to see thay alternatives to road salt are being explored! Although this alternative is biodegradable it still harms invertebrates. #AquaEco2018
@HeidiSimoneau Winter storm events can have serious indirect impacts on local aquatic systems they pass over. Road salt used in winter clean up can significantly harm invertebrates who inhabit the aquatic systems that receive snowmelt runoff. My capstone project is this topic! #aquaeco2018
