No sooner has the dust settled on an amazing experience in Cape Town and we turn our attentions to our trials for the 24/25 cycle! We look forward to welcome players old and new!! @HockeyWales@WalesLadiesHock
Day Two done! A lot of fun had, both on and off the pitch, huge thanks to Titans Hockey Club for the game, we even got to see the sun! Looking forward to one last blast out on the pitch. As ever, huge thanks to @gibraltarhockey for use of their amazing facilities!
Day One done! A huge thanks to Bavaria Hawks for such a competitive game (what a keeper they have!) As ever, an absolute pleasure to be hosted by @gibraltarhockey
Here we go….the Class of 2025! So much to look forward to this Masters cycle and what a squad to do it with. Congrats to everyone selected!! @HockeyWales@WalesLadiesHock
Due to the Red and Yellow weather warnings issued for this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the second trial at Wrexham tonorrow. Email comms have been sent out to all players. The second trial will now take place at the end of January. Stay safe everyone!
@WalesLadiesHock 65s are in the World Cup Final after beating the 🇦🇺 on shuffles. We are a small nation but ‘thou art mighty.’ Fantastic group of players on & off the pitch! Team spirit is high, unbeaten so far & we go against 🏴 in the final! Worst case scenario 2nd in the 🌍

As the sun sets on an awesome World Cup experience in Cape Town, we can reflect on the amazing journey that started 13 months ago…..and then start all over again with trials on the 17th November at USW!
Countering: match the cone
The attacking team sets away each restart and must carry around a coloured cone before going to goal.
A defeder jumps back with every restart, but most run around the same corresponding coloured cone that the attacker chooses to carry around.
Barcelona ‘18 - 14th
Nottingham ‘22 - 8th
Cape Town ‘24 - 6th
This amazing group has come so far over the last 13 months. Fair play to Uruguay who were a quality outfit. We can look back and reflect on an amazing experience and a superb tournament. Thank you for all your support
After the disappointment of yesterday, it was great to see the squad bounce straight back with a convincing 3-0 win against Singapore with goals from Pip, Meals and Dawn. One final game on Sunday against Uruguay to see who finishes 5th & 6th
Not to be for us today.
Having gone up early in Q1 England drew level in Q3 with a well-worked PC. Huge credit to Leanne keeping us in the game, taking it to a penalty shoot-out. Sadly, despite our best efforts, we exited this pathway of the competition. Next up, Singapore!
Today is the day! At 12.45 local time (11.45 UK time), we will take on England for a place in the World Cup semi final. The support, both here and back at home, has been amazing; we hope many of you will be able to tune in and watch https://t.co/ZvaJosCD75
@HockeyWales
Our PotM and DoD from today’s final Group B match against South Africa.
PotM - Faye for an amazing hatrick of PCA goals
DoD - Jenna for trying to kill Faye with a face mask during a PCD
Huge congrats to all the team and management on the result!
Wow!! For the very first time, this amazing group of players are through to a World Cup Quarter Final after a fabulous comeback win against hosts South Africa, seeing the game out 3-2 with a hat-trick from Faye Sibley! @HockeyWales
What a day!! It might have taken 57 minutes to break down a very durable Australian side but we got there!! Massive PC strike from Faye Sibley to see us over the line. Next up….Argentina tomorrow!
