Totally agree, car crash, they've not understood the gravity of the problem or how to communicate. Their immediate reaction is to go on the defensive, it's been hard year, etc. Not the right approach given the situation.

@MartinSLewis I explained they shouldn’t be offering cheaper rates to new customers. Then they attempted to compare the two policy coverages, sneaky way around it. Coverage at a high level is the same but I suspect minor coverage changes are used to disguise and argue ‘not the same’ 2/2

@MartinSLewis Direct line are still offering cheaper rates to new customers. Home insurance renewal £815, new Direct line quote online £730. I called and explained, they said ‘we don’t price match’ then promptly matched the £730 for my renewal. 1/2
