This is a particularly poor line of reasoning; there's no reason to think even acceptance of "HBD" would lead to meritocracy or abolition of DEI regime - in fact, there's more reason to think the exact opposite: If people are born unequal then why not use gov to force equality on them?

This is problem types like Hanania or Cofnas or others have. They seem to think that you can just tell some aggrieved minority that has weaponized resentment towards you that "you're dumb" and University system will be fixed. Not going to work.

This will be an unpopular opinion on the Right but I think this is kind of dumb, even as a troll. Lake Ontario was given that name on maps by European explorers long before the Canadian province of Ontario was named. There are several cities in America called Ontario -- at least one of them predating the Canadian province by like 100 years -- because the word originates with native tribes in North America. It's not a Canadian invention. Canadians never uniquely owned the lake or the name. So in effect all you're doing here is actually giving them credit for a thing that wasn't theirs to begin with. Yeah it's funny when Canadians are upset I guess or whatever, but Lake Ontario, the name itself, is *American* history dating back many centuries. Not sure how you own Canada by deleting your own history.

They want to drag us into decade 50,000 of debating “ideas” about “planned economies” or whatever else, because “debating” “ideas” preserves the comforting implication that everything can ultimately be sorted out through argument in the marketplace of ideas. Your opponent can always, at least in theory, be persuaded to adopt your position.

This has never happened, and it never will. But these types have a remarkable attachment to theories that make perfect sense on paper even when they repeatedly fail to map onto reality, don’t they? There is comfort in that abstraction because it allows them to imagine politics as an intellectual exercise — maybe a hobby —rather than a genuine contest between people with conflicting interests. They fear the latter because it would mean a real fight.

Questions of identity are much different than questions they like. They mean that ultimately some people are going to be excluded.

Even when they kind of have these discussions, in reducing America to an “ism,” they never follow the Propositional Nation to its logical conclusion in demanding that those insufficiently committed to “our ideals” should be denaturalized and deported. God forbid anyone ever be excluded! :(

Those kinds of genuinely exclusionary things have a way of stepping on toes that that these people are temperamentally if not biologically incapable of weathering, as cowards. They only “fight” when it’s kayfabe.

Notice too what has happened over the past decade as our conflicts have become increasingly real. Almost all of these people have sided with their supposed enemies.

When a real fight breaks out, they side with the establishment to crush the disruption and resume the show.

@ThomBrady5 The framing of American history here is also quite something. Westward pioneers sought to expand their people's territory and chase opportunity and adventure, they weren't fleeing civilizational decline. Using their legacy to dismiss young peoples concerns is just incredible.
