The DFS Special Operations team delivered our new Incident Support Trailer to assist @Massport Fire Rescue at a drill at Hanscom Field. The IST provides full conferencing, communications, & mapping capabilities in a trailer-based version of our full-sized Incident Support Units.

Today Oakham Fire with surrounding towns completed the first day of the annual live fire refresher. Oakham, Rutland, West Boylston, Boylston and Paxton participated.

At this time Gaffney, Lincoln, Coldbrook, Grace Lane are all closed. We have numerous live wires down starting fires. Oakham Fire is prioritizing calls and the grid is on the way. stay away from any downed lines many are still live. Do not attempt to put out any fires they start
On April 22nd Oakham Fire and Police responded to a dog trapped under a shed. Oakham Fire is happy to report the dog was freed and had been reunited with no injuries
Please use caution outside the wind and the ice has brought down numerous trees and wires. Tonight a car struck a tree that had fallen in front of it, fortunately no injuries.
With the possibility of ice tomorrow please stay away from any downed power lines and see the information from our friends @MassDFS below on generator safety. Oakham Fire will have crews on duty tomorrow to handle any storm related emergencies.
Just after midnight last night Oakham Fire responded to Hardwick for a multi-alarm fire. Coupled with the head start this fire had before being reported and lack of a water supply this fire was challenging for the area departments. Oakham crews cleared at 430.
