Day 28 of the February Practice Challenge!! I feel very accomplished practicing 28 days in a row. Today I treated myself to playing a quintet. It is much harder to play in tune with yourself than I thought! Congrats to everyone who made it to day 28!!! #keeponpracticing
Day 27 of the February Practice Challenge! Finally sat down to do my recordings today and finished them! Took me about an hour to record 6 minutes of music! I miss playing in orchestra in real time! #februarypracticechallenge
Day 26 of the February Practice Challenge!! I brought my cello to school today to practice during my lunch! Definitely miss making music with my students in person!!! Only 2 more days to go!!
Day 25 of the February Practice Challenge!!! It’s hard to practice now that I’m back at school, but I set a reminder to get it done tonight. All the practicing lately reminds me that I need to get my bow rehaired!! #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 24 of the February Practice Challenge! Long day at school so I practiced late tonight, but it’s good to be back. Hardest part of practicing is taking the instrument out of the case so I’m glad I left my cello out yesterday!! #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 23 of the February Practice Challenge! Sometimes it’s nice to play through some old tunes to clear your mind. Practicing an instrument is a great way to practice mindfulness and this is what I needed today! #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 22! Only 7 days left! Today I continued working with the click track. I’m struggling with the tempo change at the end, so I just need to keep doing it over and over and over and over again! Repetition is the best way to practice! #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 21 of the February Practice Challenge! I sat down to do my recordings today. Here is a video of my having some technical difficulties with headphones and music! I was frustrated, and so I need to keep practicing! #februarypracticechallenge
Day 20 of the February Practice Challenge!! Played some Bach chorales this morning in thumb position to work on my intonation. Took me a few tries to get the F naturals in tune! #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 19 of the February Practice Challenge! Teaching from home today so I practiced during my lunch. Played through some Popper etudes and kept practice music for my orchestra. #februrarypracticechallenge
Day 18 of the February Practice Challenge!! Hope everyone is enjoying their snow day! This morning I spent some time experimenting with camera angles to record for a virtual performance. Selfie mode is the best I think! Happy Practicing! #februarypracticechallenge
Day 16 of the February Practice Challenge! Today was my first day back and school and I almost forgot to practice!! Played through some shifting exercises, and setting an alarm on my phone to remind me for tomorrow!!
Day 15 of the February Practice Challenge and Happy Presidents Day! Another duet, this time with violin and cello! Music for the first president: George Washington! #februarypracticechallenge
Day 13 of the February Practice Challenge! Today I pulled out this bassoon and cello duet I played in college. Title is fitting for this month! #februrarypracticechallenge#lovestory
Day 12 of the February Practice Challenge! Feeling under the weather day due to my second Covid vaccine but still got my practice in (just scales today) and very happy I’m fully vaccinated before I go back in the building next week! #februarypracticechallenge
Day 10 of the February Practice Challenge! Got inspired to use my metronome tonight to work on Lamentations mtv 4, perpetual motion. It’s so fast!!! #Februarypracticechallenge
Day 9 of the February Practice Challenge! Pulled out Bach Cello Suite 6 because it’s my favorite. Next time I practice I need to make sure I warm up with some scales and open strings before I start playing a really hard piece! #februarypracticechallenge
