@DiegoBrando1Fan@flammesnakefan this is a philosophical and sociopolitical analysis and have nothing to do with using the label as it is used now. it's correctly claiming that black men and women aren't seen as "proper" men or women in this world, not that the terms are inherently excluding of them.
@foxfurrest@DesiresAreGrey why can you "just talk about your own experiences as a trans guy" freely and she can't 'just talk about her own experiences as a trans girl' without it being "making a tweet about something it isn't" (queer spaces' bias and prejudice)
@hideyopig9 it's "as an afab trans person", it's not an egregious usage. and yes agab is quite important to the topic at hand, even if it's mostly only implicit in how people go about it. they could have used better language, yeah, but it's not abysmal
@lesbianvaultz@bininity its cool, even though it's not flawless term usage, it's absolutely understood from the first paragraph what the topic is, even with just the usage of "intracommunally" and the discussion of interpretations of "womanhood" afterwards
@bininity@lesbianvaultz yeah... they never said the "communal experience of womanhood/oppression" is exclusive for TME ppl, it's but a fragment of the actual clause "to abusively welcome us back into", which is correct, the patriarchy wants people back in its boxes.
@seraphfangs yeahh I just browsed the quotes n there's a lot of very deliberate she-ing there 2. I guess it's hard not seeing him as a woman when he "can't wait" to be seen as a trans woman, but it's just a matter of understanding that he sees trans women as men π it's all so fucked up
@seraphfangs@Pixel8edF32328@GigachadessMain the scenario which I describe has happened not only to me, but 2 many others. I don't agree that negative pessimism is the way to tackle these issues, but it does indeed answer your original query of "why do we always gotta take stuff in bad faith when there's no proof of it"
@seraphfangs@Pixel8edF32328@GigachadessMain absolutely; however, think about it this way, if there's a "women and nonbinary only space", there is a very big and real chance that it's a thinly veiled way of saying "afabs only". in which case caution would be taking it as 'bad faith'. it's the same as in this case
@seraphfangs@Pixel8edF32328@GigachadessMain I understand your point and think that sometimes it is fairly unnecessary, but we stay hypervigilant for survival's sake. it doesn't come from nowhere; it comes from decades of "allies" being unsafe
@moidtv I genuinely told my pharmacist I was taking HRT only bc I have a hormone imbalance when they asked if it was for "gender change" #inwombtestestosteroneexcess
