a girl sprayed a guy with air freshener after be farted as a joke and he did it back to her, also joking. so she got up and grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the chest multiple times for implying she didn't smell good
I am so picky when it comes to dating. Last year I went to a street fair with this guy and he wouldn’t get his face painted with me and I was like immediately this is not anybody I want to be with bye

Researchers sent the same resume to an AI hiring tool twice. Same qualifications. Same experience. Same skills. One version was written by a real human. The other was rewritten by ChatGPT.
The AI picked the ChatGPT version 97.6% of the time.
A team from the University of Maryland, the National University of Singapore, and Ohio State just published the receipt. They took 2,245 real human-written resumes pulled from a professional resume site from before ChatGPT existed, so the human writing was actually human. Then they had seven of the most-used AI models in the world rewrite each one. GPT-4o. GPT-4o-mini. GPT-4-turbo. LLaMA 3.3-70B. Qwen 2.5-72B. DeepSeek-V3. Mistral-7B.
Then they asked each AI to pick the better resume. Every model picked itself.
GPT-4o hit 97.6%. LLaMA-3.3-70B hit 96.3%. Qwen-2.5-72B hit 95.9%. DeepSeek-V3 hit 95.5%. The real human almost never won.
Then the researchers tried the obvious objection. Maybe the AI is just better at writing. So they had real humans grade the resumes for actual quality and ran the experiment again, controlling for it. The result was worse. Each AI kept picking itself even when human judges rated the human-written version as clearer, more coherent, and more effective.
It gets worse. The AIs do not just prefer AI over humans. They prefer themselves over other AIs. DeepSeek-V3 picked its own resumes 69% more often than LLaMA's. GPT-4o picked its own 45% more often than LLaMA's. Each model can recognize and reward its own dialect.
Then the researchers ran the simulation that ends careers. Same job. 24 occupations. Same qualifications. The only variable was whether the candidate used the same AI as the screening tool. Candidates using that AI were 23% to 60% more likely to be shortlisted. Worst gap was in sales, accounting, and finance.
99% of large companies now run AI on incoming resumes. Most of them use GPT-4o. The paper just proved GPT-4o picks GPT-4o 97.6% of the time.
If you wrote your own cover letter this week, you did not lose to a better candidate. You lost to a worse candidate who paid OpenAI 20 dollars.
Your qualifications do not matter if the AI prefers its own handwriting over yours.
Emma Sulkowicz didn't carry a mattress around Columbia for a full academic year for you dummies to say millennial feminism was about forcing women to be sluts.
Americans will say 15 years of hard labor is too much for a tourist who stole a poster but that dying in a makeshift prison is a just punishment for overstaying your visa
You cannot really appreciate this until you also get your drivers license in the U.S.
“Stop and the stop sign and then park at the curb. Sure, now when does the test begin? Oh I passed it?”
At a local burrito place that I love.
Employee: Rips 2 inch hole in burrito while rolling it and then tries to wrap it in foil quickly.
Me: "Can you double wrap that please?"
Employee: "That will be extra, is that okay?"
Me: "There is a massive hole in the burrito?"
Employee: "We will re wrap it with a new tortilla but double wrap is extra"
Me: "Uh..."
Employee: Takes burrito and sets it aside so someone can fix it.
Instead of double wrapping he burrito, they made a new tortilla and then dumped the burrito into the new tortilla and then threw the old Tortilla away.
Because the double wrap would be extra...
Make it make sense....
even though he was diagnosed at the university hospital. He eventually went bankrupt trying to pay his medical bills and stayed around the campus asking for food/money and I think his situation radicalised me more than anything
at my university (unc chapel hill) there was a homeless man in a motorised wheelchair as he lost the use of both his feet. This was because of his diabetes. He previously had been a professor for the university and they would not assist with his health care/insurance
When I was in my 20s I had a very severe back injury that left me in quite a bit of constant pain and often took away my ability to walk, stand, or even sit. I was at the doctor's once and told him I was worried about becoming homeless because my injury and he said "of course you wont! Youre in school for microbiology and chemistry! You think homeless people can do that??"
It was my first exposure to how painfully and dangerously deluded the well-off are about the homeless and disabled and how only one small misfortune can be all it takes to take *everything* from you
@ESPNAssignDesk You do not have permission to use it — as I’ve told you numerous times in DMs. Shouldn’t have laid off all those reporters if you wanted locker room content.
They want you to joke about war so you guys don’t give a fuck anymore. Stop making jokes. It’s not funny and stop being desensitized. This is real life not a meme board, wake the FUCK up.
A man sat down across from a woman on the train I’m on and started aggressively trying to talk to her. She’s staring out the window not acknowledging him. Another man walked over and said “she don’t wanna talk, bro. Look at her body language, leave her alone” and the talking guy said “my bad” and left.
THIS IS WHAT MEN SHOULD BE DOING WHEN THEY SEE FELLOW MEN BEING CREEPS TOWARD WOMEN. Big props to that guy for intervening. He didn’t have to, but he did it anyway.
