We know, O Lord, that every time a child or wrath is saved by Your grace, You have bound the Devil and spoiled his house. By the power of Your Word preached, You overpower Satan and his demons and his kingdom, and call souls out of darkness into Your glorious light! Amen.
I was dead to you, but you gave me your life. I had nothing to offer you, being poor in spirit, but you have made me rich in spiritual blessings. Amen.
O Lord, I was blind but you gave me eyes to see spiritual truth. I was lame but you make me walk in your Word. I was unclean but you healed my moral guilt and pollution. I was deaf to the things of God, but you opened my spiritual ears and now I can hear and obey you.
It is only the blind, lame, leprous, deaf, and dead who could receive healing, cleansing, and resurrection. The well had no need of it. And it is only those who are spiritually blind, cripples, lepers, deaf, and dead who receive miraculous spiritual intervention.
But let me have communion with You at all times, not only during the Lord's Supper or at church. May I have fellowship with You and Your Son Jesus and with all of Your children every day. Amen.
When I take communion with Your people at church, Lord, let me examine myself and ensure that I drink and eat respectfully and without unconfessed sin in my life.
The Lord's Supper, or "Communion," is a special time for believers to remember the great sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. The wine represents his shed blood and the bread his broken body.
