Just a quick reminder to check on your friends, especially after major championships. For every gold medal moment there’s a near miss, a tough loss, a realization that one’s best just wasn’t good enough that day. This can be hard and athletes don’t talk about mental health enough
PSA: She’s an 800m runner 🔥🙌
Tigst Assefa credits her finishing speed to her training as an 800m runner. Her sprint finish secured her the London Marathon title and a new women-only world record (2:15:41).

The future of NJ middle distance running is bright! 🤩 Incredible poise and tactics in this race and still just a HS junior. I’m a fan and will be following and rooting for Paige!
🚨Clash of NJ Legends Alert!!🚨
🔥Union Catholic junior Paige Sheppard beat some pros and took down her own NJ record when she placed 2nd in a great 800 battle with all-time NJ great Olivia Baker!!!🔥

Another barn-burner 👀
Olivia Baker breaks the tape first in the women’s 800m in 2:00.14, out-leaning Emily Richards for the win at The Monmouth Mile.

It’s not a credit/blame thing. God gets all the glory, honor, and praise in both the wins and losses because He is worthy of that regardless of the outcome of a given sporting event (race in my case).
Five Swedish track and field athletes are filing suit against the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOC) for what they deem is 'a clear violation of the Olympic Charter.'
After nine athletes, despite meeting the World Rankings quota outlined by the IOC, were denied selections to the Olympic team by the SOC, five of them filed a joint suit.

“Enough is enough. Stop with the age discrimination (the 25 and under age criteria). Stop with the nonsense (top 12 criteria). Please make it clear on how to get selected for the Games!
It’s not only a shame, but bizarre that @SWEOlympic, would choose to have zero Swede’s in the women’s 1500m instead of sending me. They would rather have 0 men in the steeple chase instead of sending 3(!!). What message does this send to the next generation of middle-distance runners in Sweden? Make it make sense (you can’t)
For now I’m not okay💔…but I will let my feelings come and go until I am. Unfortunately I’ve done it before, and I can do it again.”
Yolanda Ngarambe (@yolleboll) calls out the Swedish Olympic Team for not naming her to the team for the Paris Olympics. She had a season’s best of 4:05.19 from June and was 10th in the European Championship 1500m final. She qualified via World Ranking.

“I still love running. Even when it hurts, even when it’s hard. It’s still so fun. Getting out there and pushing myself and just running free and fast, and working with my teammates.”

Pros racing at college meets. I love opening up the season in off events against collegians fresh off XC season, setting up fast races at BU meets, and getting to end a meet with a 4x4…BUT I’d give it up if it would help this sport more clearly define what it means to be a pro.
And Gabby is just the first runner confirmed... more to come... and all I ask is that the amazing track community I see online across x/ig/tt all keep showing up for these stars. I want to do everything I can to create something sustainable for these women in between Olympics.
This is one of the most wholesome moments I’ve seen in a long time. This young girl brought to tears after @Kamillascsilva signs her ‘Everyone watches women’s sports’ sweatshirt. She has a @dawnstaley autograph on there too!!
Got choked up shooting this 🥹

Let’s go!! Been on the edge of my seat all day waiting for this result! First woman to complete the Barkley Marathons with less than 2 minutes to spare! It’s been a long time coming ✊🏾 (and if you don’t know what the Barkley Marathons are, take a minute to look it up 👀)
I was able to drop the article today ya’ll!
I hope you guys enjoy the recap of the greatness that happened at USA’s this weekend 🥹

Also at this year's Millrose Games, @LucianoFiore10 ran an indoor PB with a 1:46.73 in the 800m. In the women’s 800m, @obaker64 finished in second with a 2:01.91, her fastest time this season so far! 🤯
