For Our Mothers
I turned up today, a mother in support of other mothers, because women should not die while giving life.
This cause is personal.
I have visited some of our hospitals and witnessed firsthand just how precarious giving birth can be in Uganda. None of us is safe until all of us can give birth safely.
The @imarathonug gave us a moment to focus on one of the critical causes of maternal mortality in Uganda.
But the cause does not end today.
Keep giving blood. Give what you can towards building the cold room at Mengo Hospital Blood Bank.
For the mothers. For the lives they are bringing into the world. ๐

I know that the economy is tough so will appreciate all your help.
Thank you ๐๐ฝ
Thank you for going the distance to save a mother.
Every step and every blood donation brought us closer to ending preventable maternal mortality.

This is the kind of running experience we at @imarathonug want to see. Those whose best years are ahead of them investing in a healthier lifestyle earlier on. There will be more moments like this on Sunday October 3rd, 2027 on the Northern By Pass. We know our partners are committed to making this happen. Let us continue to #SaveAMother

It's alleged that he left the newsroom yesterday like at 1pm but he didn't come back and neither did he reach his home

Today I visited @LifeLink256 Hospital in Ntinda. I knew someone there who knows sign language, so I had hope that communication would be easier.
When it was time to see the doctor.. I went alone, he started speaking (with masks on), so I signed that I am Deaf. To my surprise, he responded in sign language ๐ I was shocked and happy at the same time. I immediately felt more relaxed because communication wouldn't be so difficult.
His sign language is still basic and he's still learning, but he signed things like "abdominal pain" and "headache." For the signs he didn't know, I taught him a few. It became a two-way learning experience.
It reminded me that healthcare workers don't have to be fluent in sign language to make a difference. Learning even the basics can help Deaf patients feel seen, respected, and included. Small efforts can have a big impact.
A big thank you to the doctor for making the effort to learn sign language. It may seem like a small step, but it made a big difference to my experience today. ๐๐ฝ
