Hon Adesina Rabiu was a Liability, Rather than Asset to Iwo Accord —Party Leaders and Elders

Hon. Adesina Rabiu (ARA) who defected to All Progressives Congress(APC) today was more of a liability and embarrassment to the Accord than an asset, the forum of elders and leaders of Iwo Accord has disclosed.

The party while responding to the defection of Hon Rabiu said the lawmaker had constituted serious nuisance and disappointments to his constituents from 2022 to date, noting that the party had refrained from acting against the lawmaker because of the intervention of some elders.

“When he was invited to the Government House a few days ago, we knew he wouldn't stay any longer because his request for a second term ticket is a direct violation of the zoning formula operating within the Iwo state constituency.

“Aside from his abysmal performance which has made the party a laughing stock among Iwo people, Accord cannot violate the zoning formula which confirmed that Isale Oba is the next region to produce a state lawmaker.

“The defector was a beneficiary of the zoning formula which he was struggling to upturn as he was handed the ticket in 2022 to contest because it was not the turn of the contestant who won the primary.

“We apologise to the state leadership of the party and our dear governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for fielding and sustaining such a failed politician in the first place. We assure that Iwo Accord will never support such mediocrity again and we will deepen the hold of Accord among Iwo people.

“The exit of Hon Rabiu is a good development for the Iwo Accord. The shame has been removed from us and we promise Iwo people that we will present a credible candidate who will make Iwo people proud at the State Assembly.

“Iwo people remain committed and passionate in their support for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Our people appreciate the governor for what he has done so far and what he will still do for our people”, the statement noted.
