Remember when I talked about the #PiNetwork and Open Standard partnership?
I said that, honestly, I wasn't yet seeing a strong, clear benefit for the Pi ecosystem.
I'm not saying there are no benefits. I'm saying we need to understand how $Pi itself will benefit.
Now, #PiNetwork has published a new article about its approach to stablecoins, and I think it's worth discussing.
According to Pi, stablecoins can help with payments where people need more stable prices. But Pi also made something clear:
Stablecoins should complement pi-network:native , not replace its role in the ecosystem.
And this is where my concern comes in.
If people can use a stablecoin to make payments, what role will Pi play in those transactions?
How will this partnership create more utility for Pi itself?
Pi says it wants to introduce stablecoins carefully, while keeping Pi as the main cryptocurrency within its ecosystem.
That's the direction Pi wants to take. But we still need to see how it will work in practice.
For me, the important thing isn't just that Pi is partnering with a company connected to a large financial network.
The real question is: how does this partnership create more value and utility for Pi and the Pioneers?
That's what I'll be watching as we get more details.
What's your take? Do you think stablecoins can strengthen Pi's ecosystem without taking away from Pi's own utility?
